Tour and Taste- September 28, 2017

Plans are underway for our annual Tour and Taste! The event will feature a development Tour of the region, followed by the Taste- a sampling of food from our chamber restaurants at at Live! Casino and Hotel.

Sponsorships are now available on our website. Tickets for the Tour and Taste (or just the Taste) are also available on our website. ALL bus tickets must be reserved by September 14!

Ribbon Cutting at Partners in Care

Partners In Care will be hosting their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for their new offices and Upscale Retail Boutique on Thursday, July 27th at 4:00 pm. Please join us to help them celebrate!

Partners in Care is a recognized leader in Maryland for programs and services that support the independence of older adults using the time and talents of its members, leadership, and staff. They promote active engagement of their members and families by offering services in exchange for their donated time and talents.

Power Connections Breakfast

Wednesday, August 16-7:30-9:30AM

This is largest networking breakfast of the year! This multi-chamber networking breakfast will be held on Wednesday, August 16 from 7:30AM-9:30AM. The event will feature 60-second Speed-networking, Valuable Connections, Door prizes, and a delicious breakfast! The event has sold out at 250 attendees in the past- register early to guarantee your spot.

Our special guest speaker will be KELLY SCHULZ, Secretary of Labor, Licensing, & Regulation for the State of Maryland.

October 30th: Economic Forum

11:30AM-1:30PM

Hear from the foremost political and business leaders shaping our regional economy. J.D. Foster, Chief Economist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce will provide an in-depth economic forecast.

Scholarships Awarded

Congratulations to the 2017 recipients of the Bormel, Grice & Huyett Business Scholarship Award! Mbongeh Bassah and Nicholas O’Connor of Laurel Senior High School were presented the award by Francesco Mazziotti. Our best wishes for future success to the Class of 2017!!

The Bormel, Grice & Huyett Business Scholarship Award is presented annually to area high school seniors for scholastic achievement and interest in pursuing a business curriculum in college. Past recipients include students from River Hill, Laurel, Pallotti, Reservoir, Hammond, Glenelg, Atholton, Mt. Hebron and Oakland Mills High Schools.

School Supply Drive for Military Families

The Military Affairs Committee of the Central Maryland Chamber will be collecting school supplies to provide to the 4 Elementary Schools located on Fort Meade. All supplies need to be dropped off to the chamber office (8385 Piney Orchard Parkway, Odenton) by August 9th.
