Book Fair: Begins Thursday, Dec. 1st
It's time for our Fall Book Fair! All profits raised go directly to
buying classroom books and equipment . This winter's book fair's theme is pirates (and we have some wonderful artwork, thanks to Mrs Murphy and her art classes!). The  book fair will open before and after school ( 8-9 a.m. 3:15-4:15 p.m. ) starting the afternoon of  Thurs., Dec. 1st  through the morning of  Thurs., Dec. 8th. The book fair will also be open  during Run for the Summit  this Saturday . You can make personal purchases, or buy a book or two off a teacher's book fair wish list!

You can also support the school  buying online between  Dec 1st and 9th  via the link to the right.
Raven Fund: 16-17 Annual Campaign
The Summit, like other independent schools, must raise funds every year to help meet operating costs, since tuition alone never covers the full cost of an independent school education. Through this support, The Summit is able to:
  • Attract and retain the most talented faculty
  • Provide classroom and learning resources to afford students best-practice learning opportunities
  • Maintain an attractive, welcoming, and safe environment
  • Enhance art, music, physical education, Spanish language, and sports programs
The Raven Fund provides money that will be spent this academic year, in support of students who are here now and the learning activities they enjoy today. All members of The Summit community - present and past - are encouraged to give their "best gift" to The Raven Fund each year. Imagine! If each Summit family would give a gift of $291 then we would meet our goal of $30,000!

For questions or ways to donate contact Laura Skiles, Summit's Development Officer.
Hot Lunch Menus: Check Website
Lunch menus and advance order links, through the end of December 2016, are now available online. Use the link at the right to view menu options.
Hang a Hat for Ronald McDonald House
Please join Summit administrative staff and teachers in providing scarves, hats, and gloves for children and families staying at the Ronald McDonald House during the cold weather season.

Beginning  Monday, December 5, bring in a new hat, scarf, or gloves for a man, woman, or child and write your name on a paper candy cane to be hung up in the Summit lobby! Donations will be collected through  Tuesday, December 20, and delivered that afternoon. Thank you for your consideration; all donations are very appreciated!
Volunteer Training: Monday, December 5th
We will be holding two Volunteer Training Sessions on Monday, December 5th. One at 9:00 a.m. and one at 5:00 p.m., each session will last approximately 30 minutes. This is a great opportunity to complete the required volunteer training prior to class winter parties. All volunteers must have completed volunteer training within the last two years. For questions or to check your volunteer status contact Laura Skiles, Development Officer.
Fifth Grade Parent Informational Middle School Meeting

Upper School Winter Running Club
All Upper School (middle and high school students)  who are interested in running or are not sure if they are interested in running, are invited to join The Summit/NCA running group this winter. No experience is necessary.
Winter running group is simply a place to meet and run. It is not a practice. The group will meet at Angie Workman's home, Summit Athletic Director and Cross Country Coach, in the afternoons of  December and January.

Contact Angie Workman if you have any questions or are interested in joining the Winter Running Club. They hope to see some new faces this winter!
