Dear Parents and Guardians,

November is here, which marks the changing of the seasons and a new marking period. Students will be taking their end of marking period assessments (or benchmark exams), so continue to ask how they are doing and which subject assesment they have coming up. The information from the exams will help the staff better understand where they need to focus their lessons to address the students' needs.

Hurricane Relief: Northley has partnered with one of the hardest hit districts in Texas. Students attending Aransas Pass ISD (http://www.caller.com/story/weather/hurricanes/2017/08/31/aransas-county-isd-crowdfunding-rebuild-schools/622289001/) are still not back in their schools after a month. We will be putting out a Relief T-Shirt next week with more details. Please be looking out for this important bulletin.

Youth Truth Survey: Northley will once again be participating in the Youth Truth Survey. The survey is anonymous for the students but provides important information to the school about the students' perception on the culture, climate, academics, and support available at Northley. As with our other surveys, participation is voluntary and students can opt out. An opt out form is available below.

Halloween: As a reminder, students are not to wear costumes on Halloween. We will be having a pep rally that day to recognize the fall sports and club activities. Please ensure your student does not come to school in a costume. They will not be allowed to attend class until they have changed their clothes.

As usual, we have included the monthly dates below for planning purposes. Also, take a second to look at some of the art work you children have produces.

Have a great weekend,
