Welcome to December! This time of year is surely one of the most busy and exciting months for many. It's the holiday season and a fitting time for remembering the value of generosity and kindness. We'd like to thank each and every one of you for your support of Mychal's Learning Place in 2016.
Our annual Friends of Mychal's Art Show last month was a great event.

Mychal's Family Holiday Party is on Sunday, December 18th, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm, where the students of Mychal's and their families come together to celebrate the season of giving.

In the Spotlight
"Josue"
Josue is a fairly new student at Mychal's Learning Place. He is 12 years old and attends our Culver City After School Program. Josue is a young, lovable boy who is very independent and enjoys helping others. His hobbies are cooking, cleaning and music. Josue has a passion for playing the guitar, and learning how to use new instruments. Since he has joined Mychal's Learning Place, his mother informed us that he has been assisting her more with tasks at home, in addition to taking more responsibility for his actions. When Josue is not at Mychal's he enjoys spending time with his younger brother and sister. We're so thrilled to have Josue as part of the Mychal's family!

The award-winning and community-cheered feature documentary "Autism in Love" (
available here) is now becoming a TV documentary series! The documentary's producers have partnered with MTV and are CURRENTLY LOOKING FOR YOUNG ADULTS ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM TO TELL THEIR STORIES. Documentary subjects MUST LIVE IN THE GREATER LOS ANGELES/SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AREA, must be 18 years of age or older, be actively pursuing romantic love or be in a romantic relationship at any stage. Like the movie, this series WON'T TALK ABOUT the autism community...Young Men and Women with Autism will SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES and show the world their unique perspective on love.

FireFan App
Mychal's Learning Place has a unique opportunity to participate in sharing FireFan, the hottest new sports app, with our friends and families and by doing so enhance our fundraising efforts.
There has NEVER been a game like FireFan. With FireFan, you can play along LIVE while competing against sports heroes, celebrities, and friends. You make the calls. You predict the plays. Scores. Penalties. And More.
Fire Fan is a FREE download and players can watch ads to play for FREE and also raise funds for Mychal's. The app will be rated "E-Everyone" and everyone who plays the app will have chances to earn loyalty reward points. The app will launch soon and will start off with NFL and MLS with NBA, MLB and other sports to follow.
