AADC Presents Second Annual Career Symposium in September

This year's Victoria Dabrowski Schmidt '42 Workplace and Professional Development Symposium on Saturday, September 16, features career workshops together with ou Morning Plenary session, "Get Gravitas: How to Communicate without Saying a Word," by Beena Kavalam '98. Our Luncheon Keynote, "Developing Your Network, Link by Link," features Jeannine LaRue.  Symposium Chair Lisa Kaado '03 encourages all alumnae to register today for an inspiring day of workshops, networking and connecting with sister alumnae.

AADC Alumnae Reunion Weekend 2018 Volunteer Leaders Training Scheduled for August 24
 
This year's Alumnae Reunion Weekend will take place on April 19-21, 2018, during the AADC's special milestone anniversary weekend celebration.  All Class Officers, Affinity Network and Regional Group Chairs are invited to attend this training session on August 24 at the Ruth Schilling Hennessy Alumnae Center. You will be presented with the weekend's exciting festivities and learn about the planning tools you and your classmates can use to plan your class reunion within this special weekend.  Linda Caldwell Epps '73, Chair of the AADC's Milestone Anniversary Committee, and AADC staff will be on hand to answer questions and solicit your support as we work together to plan and execute a memorable anniversary weekend, highlighting our traditional reunion events.
 
Save the Date for AADC Anniversary Weekend Celebration and Reunion 2018
 
We have so much to celebrate during our 95th anniversary! Save the date as we herald this important milestone, as well as celebrate Reunion Weekend 2018! Events taking place during our anniversary weekend from April 19 to 21, 2018 include: Thursday - An Evening to Honor AADC Benefactors; Friday - Vanguard Reunion Luncheon; Saturday morning - AADC Alumnae Reunion Convocation in Voorhees Chapel, followed by afternoon activities; and Saturday evening - a special Anniversary Gala to be held at the Heldrich Hotel in New Brunswick. Stay tuned for more information and don't miss this wonderful weekend!

AADC Mabel's Alumnae Mentoring Program Kickoff at Symposium
 
More than 60 pairs of Mentors and Mentees have been matched in the second year of the AADC Mabel's Alumnae Mentoring Program. Participants will be notified soon and will have a chance to meet and connect at our Kickoff Session at the Victoria Dabrowski Schmidt '42 Workplace and Professional Development Symposium on Saturday, September 16, at the Douglass Student Center. This enriching mentoring program  is designed with our vibrant alumnae in mind, providing professional development opportunities and connections across generations, distance, career levels and backgrounds. 

Nominations Sought for AADC Board of Directors 

Finding and selecting appropriate candidates for Associate Alumnae of Douglass College Board of Directors positions is critical to the success and leadership of the AADC. Get Involved and Engaged with the AADC
 
If you have never been active with the AADC, or are already participating in programs and events, you are always welcome to volunteer and get involved! The Associate Alumnae of Douglass College welcomes alumnae volunteers to help out at the Ruth Schilling Hennessy Alumnae Center (RSHAC), serve on AADC committees, plan events and lectures and so much more. If you are already an active volunteer, thank you for sharing your time, talents and treasures. Please spread the word.

California Connection Groups
If you live in California, either in the Los Angeles or San Diego area, c ontact Valerie Hughes Zieniuk '05 to get involved.

San Francisco Bay Area Connection Group
The group is now forming a planning committee. Contact Chair  Carolyn Olechowski Gerhardt '68   and include "Douglass Alumnae Bay Area" in the subject line.

N ew Jersey Connection Groups
New Jersey has groups in Southern, Central and Northern areas. For Central, please contact Chair Mindy Raso Kirstein '77. For Southern New Jersey, contact  Kristin Long '78 . For Northern New Jersey, contact Valerie Zieniuk '05 at the AADC.

Palm Beach, Florida, Area Connection Group
The AADC invites your involvement whether you are a native of Florida, snowbird or vacationer. Contact  Eileen Cotter at the AADC.

Washington, DC, Metro Area Connection Group
All alumnae in D.C. and the surrounding Maryland and Northern Virginia areas are welcome to become involved. Contact Chair Shireen Lewis '86.

AADC Black Alumnae Network (BAN) 
BAN is a great way to connect through meetings and events. Contact President Caprice Jenerson '90   for more information. 
 
AADC Young Alumnae Network (YAN) 
YAN meets at the Alumnae Center on the second Tuesday of each month, except June, July and August. Contact Chair Heather Tedesco '12.
 
AADC Pride Network
The AADC Pride Network promotes support, networking and celebration among lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer-identified and allied alumnae. To get involved, contact Chair Sue Estler '66.

AADC Asian Alumnae Network
AAN seeks to foster a community among alumnae of Asian cultures, including but not limited to: Indian, Chinese, Pakistani, Japanese, Korean, Bangladeshi, Filipino and Sri Lankan. We are looking for an alumna to chair this network. Contact  Dineo Thompson '05 at the AADC to help re-start this group.
 
AADC Latina Alumnae Network
The Latina Alumnae Network (LAN) seeks to foster a community among Latina alumnae. If you would like to chair this network, please contact Dineo Thompson '05.
