How they do it is a mystery

Chalk can be used to spread cheer...and it seems you can get the police involved--happily.
What a task that was to encircle a saguaro

JPNA Land Use Committee Concern......
A pool in the front yard?  How did that happen?
Jefferson Park is one of only two neighborhoods in Tucson which has a "Neighborhood Preservation Zone" ordinance.
Several years ago the neighbors worked on a manual to protect the historic nature of the neighborhood. An NPZ means that all new construction is reviewed carefully by the city before allowing permits. The purpose is to maintain the historic street scape for the neighborhood. Many residents including the association Land Use Committe question "How did this happen?"  The Jefferson Park LUC will be asking the city that very question.

Grant Road
Grant Road Construction Up-Date
Grant Road Project Managers Changed Again.  As of Nov 1, Beth Abramovitz is no longer the lead person on the Grant Road Project.  The new Grant Road Engineer Project Manager was   MJ Dillard. However, she has moved on and another Project Manager is to be assigned.

What has the Grant Road Coalition accomplished this year? It has been an amazing and very busy year.  The Coalition went from four to seven neighborhood associations  participating.  There is strength, and a diversity of ideas, in numbers!     Click here for a list of accomplishments. The group is now addressing the kind of development at the intersections that would best complement the surrounding neighborhoods. In partnership with the city and the transportation department, there could be an incredible northern gateway to the U of A and the downtown developments.  Watch this newsletter for how you can respond to a survey to give your input.
Tucson Heritage Park and Health Trail  Announcement has been Delayed
The National Park Service has delayed the announcement for The Tucson Heritage Park and Health Trail .

The city of Tucson will be apprised first of the decision, and then our neighborhood will be contacted about the decision.

The proposed greenway trail would extend from Park Avenue to Santa Rita.  It would hook up with a proposed Jefferson Park bike Loop from Grant to Lester, Lester to Campbell, then west back to Mountain or Park.

We wait for word.... not so patiently!

SAMOS Home Tour
