Issue #176 - October 26, 2017

From the Carpenter's bench:

"Tell everyone who is discouraged... 'God is coming to your rescue.'" - Isaiah 35:4

"While Jesus was preaching one day, an evil spirit in a man shouted, 'I know who you are: you are God's holy messenger!' Jesus ordered the spirit, 'Be quiet and come out of the man!' The demon...went out of him...The report about Jesus spread everywhere."

A TV program dealt with the making of the Superman films. One member of the film crew was outraged to hear how much money Marlon Brando got for a brief appearance in one of the films. But the outrage turned to praise when the crew member saw, firsthand, Brando's power to move an audience. Jesus possessed a similar power - only infinitely greater - to move the human heart and to expel evil from it. (I know Mrs. Leonardi will love the Superman reference!)

What is one evil tendency in my heart that I would like Jesus to heal - or to expel?

Having the ability to capture your audience is of great importance in education! The influence we have on others in various capacities can be positive or negative. As administrators, teachers, parents, brothers, sisters, friends, etc., we have the unique opportunity to touch the heart of others, but only if we take advantage of it. It is important that we all realize that we are in this together and with Jesus' help, we have to advance together!

Saint Joseph our guide and guardian - Pray for us
Live Jesus in our hearts - Forever

Yours in faith,
Clay Jones

Uncorked 2017
SAVE THE DATE

On November 18, 2017, Saint Joseph Catholic Schools will continue its annual tradition of wine tasting with Uncorked: Purple Rain. Set against our new back drop at HUB 801, this year's wine choices are a tribute to the vineyards found along the rugged coastlines, sparkling streams, jagged mountains, and rolling green valleys of the Pacific Northwest. At precisely 6:30pm, the wines will be uncorked, and the beer tapped, accompanied by scrumptious hors d'oeuvers. We promise you will not go home hungry. And to keep with tradition, we will be offering several enticing silent auction items.
