Join Our Crowd for a Visit to the Yale Center for British Art,
Sunday, December 4

On Sunday, December 4, TBC's Our Crowd will be brunching at the Heirloom New Haven Restaurant and then visiting the  Yale Center for British Art with a docent-led tour.  We'll meet between 10:45 and 11:00 am at the restaurant, located at 1157 Chapel Street in New Haven. Following brunch, participants will have a private tour of the Center, which has the largest and most comprehensive collection of British art outside the U.K.  

The cost is $25 per person for brunch, there is no charge for the tour, and you are on your own for transportation.   RSVP by November 30.  If interested in carpooling or any questions about the outing please contact Ria Miller.  We look forward to seeing you!

Calling all Torah Chanters

At the Ritual Committee Meeting, we decided that we would start chanting again on our Friday night services.  We have the following dates picked: January 13, March 24, April 21, and May 12.  The readers or chanters will be given ample time to learn the verses.  Don't worry, it won't be as long as your Bar or Bat Mitzvah! Shabbat Potluck - Friday, January 13

Please join us for a community pot luck dinner prior to services on Friday, January 13  , at 6:30.  Please bring a vegetarian dish to share with old and new friends and families prior to services.  We look forward to sharing a Shabbat dinner with you.  Please let us know how many will attend, and what you will bring. A wonderful way of celebrating special simchas, such as birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, the birth of a child or grandchild, is sharing your nachas with the entire congregation by sponsoring the Shabbat Oneg, Preneg or Flowers for the Friday of your special week. Yiddish Mamelochen at Congregation Shir Shalom

 

Join a group of adults who want to kvel over accomplishments speaking some Yiddish. Enjoy the humor irony, sarcasm, wit and wisdom of Yiddish.   Date: Sunday, December 4 (additional monthly dates will be forthcoming),   Time: 1:00 - 2:30 pm.
