From Veiled Darkness to Understanding Light
The ninth plague back when Moses was called to Egypt to free the Israelites was darkness. It was pitch black for three days. No one rose from their places. They couldn't do anything or see anyone. They were stuck in darkness.
Light sheds truth on darkness. When a room is dark, you turn on a light so you can see what is in it and be able to navigate it. At night you turn on your headlights so you can see the road ahead to prevent getting in an accident. When we can't see, we are blinded from knowing where to go.
Light brings knowledge and understanding to guide us in the correct way...to find what we need, know the right way to go, stay protected from preventable pain and keep unnecessary hassle avoidable.
One name for Jesus is the Light of the World. The Bible, His Word, is light to us. His words and teaching reveal Himself to us. They give us understanding into who He is and what His purposes are as well as who we are and what our purpose is. Light. Truth. This
revealed truth also means the exposure of darkness, of evil, of the wrong way.
We all have walked in darkness and have hidden things within us that others don't know. There's darkness around us - bad things happening, things we do not understand and hidden things of others we do not know.
At some point, everything hidden will be revealed. The more we listen to God and His Word, the more truth and understanding we will gain and the more freedom we will find now. Our darkness will be brought to light and properly dealt with through the beauty of repentance, forgiveness and grace. Further, we can then help others find the light. If we are not listening to God's truth, even what understanding we think we might have will be taken away because it's not true, lasting understanding.
Let's listen to the Light who reveals truth and frees us from darkness.
