World Community Day

All are invited to join Church Women United 2017 World Community as we join the  500th Reformation Anniversary Prayer Service on Sunday, October 29 at 4 p.m. at Kumler Chapel on Miami's Western Campus. The service will be led by Father Jeffrey P. Silver of St. Mary Catholic Church and Pastor Logan Dysart of Faith Lutheran Church.
Fall Cleanup

The Trustees have selected Saturday, November 4 from 10-12 as the annual fall cleanup.  We will rake the Memorial and Seminary properties as well as pick up the gazillion acorns that we have been blessed with this year.  We need rakes, gloves and assistance.  Pizza will be provided at noon for the workers. Please RSVP to Lisa Brunckhorst via email or at 523-1241 to give some idea of the number of people we can plan on.
Race, Reconciliation, and Reformation - a Special Event with Dean Michael Dantley

As we continue to mark the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation, the campus, congregation and community are invited to a special evening with Dr. Michael Dantley on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.

This event at the Seminary Church, co-sponsored by the Campus Ministry (PCCM) as well as the Christian Education Committee, builds on our year long Journey through the Bible.  Because of our biblical understanding of who God is and what the Lord intends for humanity, Jesus Christ continues to call us as his disciples to stand, speak, and work against racism.

Building Momentum

In worship last week, we officially kicked off our Stewardship Campaign for 2018.  Our momentum is building as we are restoring the Seminary Building to enhance our community mission. Our youth and Christian Education ministries are growing. Improvements for the Memorial Building are being assessed to improve accessibility, fellowship, and flexibility.  We are in the process of hiring a much-needed Associate Pastor.  However, we cannot continue this work without YOUR momentum too.

If Oxford Presbyterian Church is part of your faith journey, we urge you to make a pledge by November 12. You may drop a pledge card in the offering plate on Sunday morning, return the card to the financial secretary's mailbox or email the information to:  [email protected]

Are you aware that Mission and Outreach is involved in a program that serves the needs of children (K-5th grade) that live in the trailer park or Park View Arms and go to Kramer elementary school?

Bridge Church in Oxford is the primary sponsor of this program but without church and community support this program would not exist.  Clubhouse, is a children's ministry program that primarily relies Miami University students to run this program every week (Tuesday 5:30-8 PM). These volunteers help these children with homework, play games, sing songs, and share the gospel of Jesus Christ through stories, crafts and songs. The volunteers are paired with the same child or group of children each week to encourage a mentoring relationship. The program starts off with a nutritious meal.

What are they asking from OPC?   They would like our church to sponsor a simple but nutritious meal once a month on a Tuesday of our choice and they also need some financial support to cover costs.  Mission and Outreach is currently sponsoring a meal on the 4th Tuesday of each month but we need help.  Currently Sue Wilson and Deb Sayers have taken on the task of cooking and bringing in a covered dish, some fruit, and a desert for about 40 people (children and college students).

If you are feeling called to help with Club House or join Mission and Outreach to promote OPC involvement in important local mission projects, then please contact the church office (523-6364) or Dave Wilson (523-8848).

Your Stewardship Matters
I have held many things in my hands,
and I have lost them all.
But whatever I have placed in God's hands,
that I still possess.
