Video Volunteers Needed
We are looking for a new team of volunteers to video tape Sunday sermons at First Pres. This requires no previous experience, just a willingness to serve. Training will be provided. We are hoping to start videotaping with Pastor Kellen's first Sunday, July 2. If you are interested, please contact John Norton, Communications Coordinator.
Donations for Roseland "Good News" Day Care Center
Our suburban schools are closed for the summer, but "Good News" Day Care Center increases in population during the summer program.  Please remember to bring your donations to the Rotunda coat room.  Needs are infant formula and baby food, diapers (all sizes), baby clothes and children's clothing.  Thank you for your generosity! Any questions - call Jan Foster,
(630) 653-2612.
FPC Book Club
Our selection for the month of July is Hillbilly Elegy by J.D. Vance. A deeply moving memoir with its share of humor and vividly colorful figures, Hillbilly Elegy is the story of how upward mobility really feels."

Join us on Thursday, July 27th, 7:00 p.m. in the Parish house living room for fellowship and great discussion.

Tomatoes and Pepper Update
We had our first pepper harvest.  A family brought in two peppers to share with the food pantry.  As your harvest comes in, bring the crops to share.  We will have a basket in the rotunda for your sharing.  Keep tending those plants -- water, sun and love.
Food Pantry
Both food pantries continue to seek personal care items like toothpaste, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner, and women's personal products.

Interfaith is happy with whatever food we collect. PRC needs nutritional  cereal, peanut butter, 2- 4T diapers and pull-up diapers size 5 & 6.

These items will be our July focus, however, as always whatever the congregation brings in is never turned away!

Adult Education
Beyond the Psalms
Sundays, 10:45 a.m. in Stewart Hall 101-102
As a continuation of our Summer in the Psalms sermon series, we will explore the Psalms further in our Adult Education program: Beyond the Psalms. As part of a video series from Fuller Theological Seminary, we will be guided in reflecting on the Psalms by Eugene Peterson, author of The Message translation of the Bible, Bono, lead singer of U2, and theologian David Taylor.

Deepen your knowledge and expand your awareness of our summer scriptures as we journey beyond the Psalms.

Update Membership Information
Does our Church database have YOUR family membership record correct?
Here is your chance to update YOUR record for our annual Guide Book & Directory. It is time for us to update our database with any changes, additions, or deletions that may have occurred in YOUR family over the past year.

Have you changed your phone number? Have you moved? Are you preparing to move soon? Are all of your children still at home and are they all included in your membership record? Do you want your record published? Do we have your current email address?
If you have not already informed the Church Office about changes to your record, please let us know now so that the information in the Guide Book & Directory is correct.

Contact the Church Office or calll 630-668-5147.
Guide Book & Directory Advertising Opportunity
We are in the process of updating our annual Guide Book & Directory for the church. This book will contain everything pertinent to our church: the various ministries, organizations, committees, activities, functions and events plus a complete directory of all members. This book is being provided and direct-mailed to each family at no cost to our church, and it is again being subsidized by local businesses that advertise. If you own or manage a business and would like to find out about advertising in our book, please contact the Church Office at: 630-668-5147.

Recent survey results by Guide Book Publishing show that 92.1% of families would rather patronize a Guide Book & Directory advertiser over a non-advertiser. It "will pay" to advertise in our new Guide Book & Directory
Young Family Picnic
The Young Families small group at First Pres is planning an outing at Northside Park on Sunday, July 23 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Please join us!
This is a growing group which meets from time to time.  The outing is informal and a good chance to socialize and for parents and kids to get to know one another better.  Food and drinks will be provided.
Please respond via text to phone number 630/544-9293 to get more details and/or to be included.  Or, email Emily Schmitz.
News from Buildings and Grounds
Our Facility Manager, Scott Rice will be returning from his tour of duty this month, and back to First Pres at the end of August.

There is a long list of "to dos" waiting for him and we will be glad to have him back. In the meantime, with the consistent help of Randy Foster and Miguel Barrera, we have managed all of the regular property maintenance and various unexpected property issues, including replacement of our ice maker, replacement of the freezer (in process), repair on the dishwasher, new signs for the parking lot adding spaces for special needs on Sundays, a banner for our Psalm Series installed above our corner sign, slate roofing repairs, steeple window leaks & repairs, repair of broken sanctuary windows & lower entryway door glass, removal of trees and tree trimming, relocating a family of skunks, and many more.

We are grateful for this generous congregation and your consistent giving that provides the means for us to care for this church building.
Halverson Benediction Prints
While Rev. David S. Handley served as Interim Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Wheaton, he concluded worship services with a modified version of the Halverson Benediction. The benediction provided a consistent reminder that God is present in our lives.
The church presented Dave with a commissioned print of the benediction that was designed by Timothy Botts; one was also made for the church and it is now hanging in the Rotunda.
High quality copies of both print designs are now available to order: 8x10 prints are $20, and 11x14 prints are $25, and a high quality copy of the We Welcome You Print is also available; it is 8 1/2x14 for $25.00.
You can order these ONLINE  or click HERE to download the order information and pay by check.
