October 27, 2017
Hi all,

I had the experience this week of having to WEAR SOCKS, and then this morning, I had to WEAR A COAT.

I guess winter is coming. While the last gasp of autumn is here, I'm going to try to enjoy it as much as I can. Mums, pumpkins, and walks in the woods. I hope you can enjoy it too!

We've got 32 responses to our professional development survey so far. If you haven't done so already, please help us by filling out this 5-minute  survey as we develop a teaching and learning calendar for 2017-18. THANKS!

And, f or the latest teacher license developments coming from the DPI, check out their licensing blog  .

WEAC Committee Now Accepting Nominations for 2018 NEA Human & Civil Rights Awards

The WEAC Human and Civil Rights Committee will once again be charged with identifying a nominee from Wisconsin for the NEA's Human and Civil Rights Awards. If you have ideas for a nominee from Wisconsin, please contact WEAC president Ron Martin at  [email protected], who will forward your suggestion to the WEAC HCR Committee.

Last year, we were honored to have Senator Tammy Baldwin as an award recipient. WEAC President Ron Martin says it would be great if more of our allies and members were recognized for their work when it comes to Social Justice.

Please provide your ideas to President Martin by  November 15, 2017.
