Accent Planters
Planters, urns and window boxes adorned with seasonal plant material and décor add vibrancy and focal points to your landscape the same way a bow dresses up a beautifully wrapped package.  We've been busy 'dressing' these garden accents which will create beautiful interest  throughout
 the winter months.
Have an empty pot, barrel, window box?  Let us know and we'll schedule a date to fill it up with seasonal interest.
Winter, spring summer or fall.

The 'To Do' list:
We've been busy preparing properties for the winter season!  Completing leaf clean ups, turf renovations & fertilization applications, perennial maintenance, winterizing water features and installing spring bulbs have been our top priority!  As we turn the corner into the winter months, we have a new list of priorities to focus on.  Here are a few to consider.  Please call us to schedule!

Anti-Transpirant Applications
Due to two years of near drought conditions, this application is more important than ever!  A/T is an liquid formula applied to evergreen plant materials that provides a waxy coating to leaf and needle surfaces that assists in preventing moisture loss from the plant tissue.  When the ground is frozen, water is not available for uptake through the plant's root system, therefore the water that is inside the plant is all that remains.  Should this be lost through weather conditions such as wind, it cannot be replenished.  Thus, you end up with browning of the plant tissue commonly referred to as 'winter burn'.  Typically two applications per winter are completed, the first in December and the second approximately (8) weeks later.

Please note that this is a preventative measure and is performed to lessen the likelihood of plant injury.  Once damage to the plant tissue (leaves, needles) has taken place, it cannot be reversed.  This is particularly troublesome with recently installed plant material, which may not have enough stored energy to combat this damage.  In turn, this may lead to weakening of the plant, as well as possible death.

Ornamental Tree Pruning
Not all small tree and shrubs should be pruned at the same time of year.  Our expert staff is very familiar with what small trees and shrubs will benefit from seasonal pruning which is vital in preserving blossoms, growth habits and reduction in susceptibilities to insect, bacterial and fungal issues.  Winter is the very best time to perform this service.

Forest Management
Do you have a Farmland Assessment plan that needs to be implemented?  Cedarwood Landscaping, Inc. can help you reach the goals of this plan (developed by a Certified Forester) and provide the appropriate documentation which enables you to claim your tax deduction.

Brush Clearing
Looking to clear an overgrown, unsightly, unusable space filled with invasive plant material and thorny underbrush?  Not only will you be helping the environment by removing invasive plant material, you'll be gaining valuable, functional landscape space that we can help you develop into a turf area for your family to run around in, a vegetable/flower garden or even plant a tree that will be enjoyed by generations to come!  Wintertime is the best time to perform this type of clearing.  Frozen ground and a non-growing environment puts this project ahead of the game just in time for a spring planting!

It's Design Time
Looking to make the most of your landscape but don't quite know what direction to go in?  Overwhelmed with what to do first and how to organize it?  Can we fit in a fire pit?  How about a water feature? Love outdoor lighting but don't want to light up the neighborhood?  A Landscape Design incorporates your visions along with tasteful functionality and serves as a plan of action in the process of implementing the landscape of your dreams.  Designing a new walk, patio or plant beds will make a enormous aesthetic change to your home as well as increase your homes value.  Add in a fire feature, pergola, low voltage LED lighting, flag pole or water feature and now you have a fully functional entertaining area that offers a reprieve from your daily routine.   From updating the front walkway or creating a small raised vegetable garden, to creating an entire new landscape we can help you with any size project you have in mind.
