October 15th Achievement Night Recognition Results.



Save the dates for Fall Volunteer Training - Expanding our roots-Growing new opportunities!  Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 6:30-8pm at the MACCRAY High School; Officer training/networking 8-8:30pm OR:  Monday, November 6th Redwood Falls Library 6:30-8pm


The University of MN Extension Southwest Team is having a training for County Ambassadors and Ambassador Volunteers with updated curriculum! This day-long training will be on December 28th on the MNWest Campus in Willmar. 


Did you know that you need to re-enroll in 4-H every year?  Re-enrolling is as easy as 1-2-3!!!  Go to the 4Honline website, enter in your username and password, and re-enroll now!! 



Save the date of November 16, 2017  for the November Leader's Council Meeting to be held  at the Kandiyohi Power Coop in Spicer, MN 



Club Leaders, reminder that your Club Charters are due on or before November 1.  All of the Adults and Youth listed on your Club Charter will also need to be re-enrolled in 4HOnline by November 1. 


The start of the Holiday Season brings clubs together in festivities!!  A reminder, If there are non 4-H guests attending, you will need to purchase special event insurance.



An exciting day is being planned for all 4-H screened adult volunteers to network with fellow volunteers while gaining new ideas for working with clubs and youth. It will be held Saturday, February 24th in conjunction with the SW BLU event at SMSU in Marshall.

Message from Dorothy: Volunteering is a gift we give ourselves
During a month we often spend expressing gratitude for good things in our lives, associate dean and state 4-H director Dorothy Freeman encourages adults to add the gift of volunteering to your list.
 
Nov. 10 is the deadline for Minnesota 4-H youth to apply for the National 4-H Conference to be held in Washington D.C. April 7-12, 2018. You must be 15 years old by Jan. 1 and not older than 19 by June 1 (in the year of conference attendance).
 
Minnesota 4-H youth in grades 9-13 are invited to strengthen their communication, leadership, and citizenship skills at a national level by attending Citizenship Washington Focus in Washington D.C. from June 23-30, 2018. Pre-application materials will be available online Jan. 10, 2018.
 
Register for a regional youth leadership workshop for youth in grades 6-12 at one of five locations across the state. Activities are planned and facilitated by the Minnesota 4-H State Ambassadors!
 
Did you miss your favorite Minnesota 4-H styles at the state fair? Are you thinking of holiday gifts for 4-H loving people in your life? Good news - Minnesota 4-H Clovermart is open for a winter sale through Dec. 14.
 
Re-enrollment for 4-H members and adult volunteers is open. The volunteer re-enrollment period is Sept. 16 - Oct. 31. And remember, starting this fall, 4-H volunteer enrollment will last for three years.
 
The Extension Committee of the Association of Minnesota Counties (AMC) will select two 4-H club projects that will each receive awards of $500 in recognition for their contributions and service to their communities. The application deadline is Jan. 22.
