revenueBurlingame Recreation Center Activities

Summer is halfway over! Stop by the Burlingame Recreation Center for more information about our activities. This aging public facility is an example of infrastructure that would be repaired should additional funds become available.
medsSafely Dispose of Medication

Have expired or unwanted meds? Drop them off at the Safe Medicine Disposal Box at the Burlingame Police Station. Safely disposing medicine keeps medicine out of the environment, reduces water pollution, and increases public safety. Drop off unneeded pills in a plastic bag but keep liquids, creams and gels in their original packaging.  Look for the Safe Medicine Disposal Box at the Burlingame Police Station and other locations.
furryLet's Keep Our Furry Friends Safe!

The City of Burlingame would like to remind residents about the dangers of hot cars and tethering.  According to the Humane Society, "on an 85-degree day, for example, the temperature inside a car with the windows opened slightly can reach 102 degrees within 10 minutes. After 30 minutes, the temperature will reach 120 degrees. Pets may suffer irreversible organ damage or die."  Click here for a printable hot car flyer to learn more.

In addition, protect pets from blisters or burns on their paws by avoiding walks on hot concrete and asphalt or excessive periods of tethering during the day.  Learn more about California laws on dog tethering by clicking here.
