This Week in Sunday School
This week we will be finishing our unit on Paul's transformation. Join us as we transform some fruit into a yummy treat!
Summer is here and we will need lots of help with our wonderful children. Ask about how easy it is! See Jeannie downstairs with any questions and to sign up!
Join us downstairs for Sunday School and spend time with our amazing kids! We are changing our program to make it easier for volunteers. Come down and see the new set up and then sign up to help!! These also give you a chance to welcome new families to our church! You can also help teach our children as a Teacher or Shepherd.

Parents of Preschool and PreK Kids!
The Amazing Miss Tanya is taking a break from teaching our Sprouts class this summer, so we will need parents to help out! We have some great games, activities and lessons planned. The kids are great to work with! Take a look at your schedule and see where you can volunteer. Check out the Spring Sign Up.
High School and Middle School Youth Groups
There will be no Youth Group for High School today. There will be no Sunday School today for Middle School Youth Group, but we will have Middle School Youth Group tonight.
- High School Mission Trip is July 24th-27th. It will be local.

GROUPS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS
School Supplies Today is the day to pick up a Target bag to return by August 6th. You will be helping students go to school with the supplies they need. Mission Committee appreciates your support.
Knotty Sunday We are having two Saturday work times to get the fleece ready for Knotty Sunday. If you are allowed to use scissors, please come to Biel Hall on Saturday, Aug. 5 or Saturday, Sept. 9 from 9 - 12. Call Barbara Rudolf if you have questions.
Food Bank Needs Specific Items The food bank is in need of specific items. There is a list at the Welcome Spot. If you can, please grab one and head to the grocery store and stock up on those items. Bring them back to the church and put them in the grocery baskets for pickup.
Whose Coming to Dinner? Save the date of August 26th for the next dinner, and all adults are welcome to attend. Look for more information in early August.
Wanted: Habitat Coordinator Thank you, Jim Rudolf, for your extended service as coordinator for Habitat for Humanity. Jim is stepping down and we need a new representative. The commitment involves attending two meetings a month, if possible, and signing up the congregation to help with the building process when needed. Don't Miss Out! Fun, food, and entertainment on Sunday, August 19th. Join Agua for Nicaragua at a Fiasta from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Dinner includes an ice cream Sunday bar and a donation bar with beer and wine. Proceeds to go water projects in Nicaragua. Tickets are $15.00 in advance, $20.00 at the door for adults and kids get $5.00 off.
Can You Give Someone a Ride to Church? Eileen and her seeing eye dog, Greigio, need a ride to church at the 10:00 a.m. service. She lives in River Walk, so if you have the time or inclination, please contact Josie at (303) 241-8797 for details. She would love to come to church, but simply cannot drive.
Save the Date!
Agua for Nicaragua is hosting a Fiesta on Saturday, August 19th from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be food and entertainment and it's a fun way to support water projects in Nicaragua Tickets are $15.00 in advance, $20.00 at the door for adults and kids get $5.00 off.

Office Staff Changes
We are excited to announce that CUC member Lindsey Stevenson is our new Finance Manager (part-time, 20 hours per week). Lindsey is a CPA with an MBA from the University of Indianapolis. She has served as an accountant for the Department of the Interior, and the Department of Defense. We look forward to her bringing her accounting and financial skills to CUC. Lindsey is married to Brent, and they have two children, Jack and Sloane. Please welcome Lindsey to our CUC Staff!!

Handicapped Parking Spaces
Please be considerate of those in need and only park in the spaces designated as "Handicapped" if you have a permit or car tag prominently displayed.
Prayer Shawl. The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets the first Tuesday of each month in the Parlor. If you like to knit, or if you would like to learn to knit, please feel free to join them at 7:00 p.m. This ministry has been providing comfort to those in need for many years.

Welcome Courtney Lynn Cooper born on July 6, 2017! She is the new daughter to Kirstin and Todd Cooper and the granddaughter Cheryl and John Landefeld.
Cole Andrew Walker, son of Greg and Jessica Walker, was baptized on Sunday, July 12th.
CONCERNS:
Please pray for Barb and Bill McElroy upon the death of Bill's son, Michael. He died on Monday, July 17th, in Florida, surrounded by his four daughters.
Prayers for Craig Knotwell, who had surgery to install three clips in the mitral valve on July 18th.
Prayers for Phyllis Baker, who is back in the hospital with complications from her liver cancer.
Prayers for Mike Freeman, a beloved 42 year veteran of South Metro Fire Rescue, who passed away peacefully last Sunday morning. Please keep his family and SMFR in your prayers.
Marilyn Johnson was in Skyridge Medical Center for a heart procedure, but is doing very well and was released on Thursday.
Please pray for Donna Force and her family. Donna is Cheri Cleland's mother and was diagnosed with breast cancer after being cancer free for 24 years. She is at home following her mastectomy on July 12th.
Please pray for Roger Maxwell as he continues to deal with serious health issues.
Prayers for Nancy Bierman who is at home following her hip replacement on July 13th.
Prayers for Carla Keeseeker as she begins a new medical procedure for her MS.
Although the immediate crisis may be over, we ask that you keep the following people in your prayers: Roger Ponds, Katie Gaertner, Dan Simmons, Bob and Lisa Call, Nina and Garrett Ray, Judith Wright, Tom Moore, Ruth and Don Teason, and Jeff and Linda Veres.
There are other unnamed members and friends of CUC who have requested prayers as they deal with unemployment, financial challenges, significant concerns, addiction and anger management.
Please pray for our brothers and sisters in the military and those who serve our country around the world.
