The workshops are designed to provide attendees with a solid understanding of how to use the Manure Management Manual to write plans and how to train others to use the manual. They will also learn techniques for conducting plan-writing workshops to help farmers prepare their manure management plans. The ultimate goal is to help agricultural operators meet Manure Management Manual compliance.

The workshops are primarily for new conservation district, DEP, and Penn State Cooperative Extension staff members. However, experienced staff who need a refresher, including anyone who has attended this training in the past, are also invited to attend.

The workshops are free and lunch will be provided.

Following the presentations, a representative from Lancaster County Conservancy will frame our workshop discussion by explaining the current master site development plans for Climbers Run.  Participants will then use this information in brainstorming with presenters/facilitators to determine how the Climbers Run Nature Preserve could possibly pursue SITES certification-putting to use what we have learned during the seminar.
