November Program & Annual Meeting
Location: DiOrio's Pizza Pub, 919 Baxter Avenue
Date: November 14, 2017 at 6:00pm
First, there will be a short Annual Meeting to elect our board and officers for 2018.
Slate of officers are listed below.
Then...
"Legendary Architects of Louisville"
Steve Wiser, FAIA , will provide a fast-paced entertaining presentation on some of Louisville's notable architects. Architects to be featured include: Charles Clarke, Henry Whitestone, Arthur Loomis, Samuel Plato, Dennis Xavier Murphy, William Arrasmith, Stratton Hammon, and many others.
Learning objectives:
- Learn the bio's of Louisville's distinguished architects
- Find out how architects have improved the quality of life in the city
- Learn what landmark buildings were designed by architects
- Explore how architectural construction has changed over the past century

| 2017 AIA/CKC Board of Directors and Officers Slate of Nominations Announced |

The AIA/CKC Nominating Committee has nominated the following slate of candidates for 2018:
Vice President/President Elect (One year term as VP with automatic second year term as President): Chuck Netherton, Assoc. AIA
Secretary (One year term): Scott Kremer, AIA
Treasurer (One year term): Marty Merkel, AIA
Director (Two year term): Chris Manzo, AIA
Director (Two year term): Sydney Goetz, AIA
Director (One year term remaining in two year term): Randy Reifsnider, AIA
The above slate of officer candidates will be voted on at the AIA/CKC Annual Meeting. The CKC Annual Meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2015 in conjunction with the November Program. See above for more on the November program.
The following board officers will continue in their current or new roles previously determined (no vote necessary):

| 2017 AIA/CKC Fall Planning Meeting Date Announced |
All chapter members are invited and encouraged to attend the annual AIA/CKC Fall Planning meeting.
Where: Offices of Luckett & Farley, 737 South 3rd St., Louisville, KY 40202
When: Saturday, November 18, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
I am hoping that you all can join us for the next AIA-CKC Fall Planning Meeting. We hope to have all on the board participate and bring some new ideas on how best to shape this upcoming year! We will be reviewing the past year and making plans for the upcoming. All chapter members are invited to share your thoughts on the future of the chapter, and in particular anyone interested in serving on a committee or as a committee chair. Breakfast will be served.
Luckett & Farley has graciously offered up their conference room space
. Free parking will be available in the adjacent lot (in parking spaces marked "Luckett & Farley Guest").

Louisville Sustainability Summit
|
This year the Louisville Sustainability Council and the Metro Louisville Office of Sustainability are hosting the annual Sustainability Summit with the theme of
Resilience, Equity, and Climate Change
Date: Friday, October 27, 2017 (all day)
Place: Kentucky Center for African American Heritage.
The Summit will focus on local impacts and action, and will include breakout sessions on air quality, energy, transportation, public health, agriculture, water, and more.
Of special interest for architects is that the Key Note Speaker is Vanessa Keith and architect in Brooklyn-who has written a book titled 2100: A Dystopian Utopia / The City After Climate Change.
