Weekly Letter From Our Pastor

Still Listening - 12 copies remaining
In just (2) weeks we welcome Dr. Susan Vitalis to Living Water as our guest preacher. We still have 12 copies of her highly acclaimed book, "Still Listening," available for purchase this Sunday.

"Give it All"
This week all who are Living Water will be receiving a letter from me, inviting you to consider your church in your 2018 plans for charitable giving. Thank you in advance for taking the time to read it, pray about the request and then return the 2018 Commitment Card on or before Sunday, November 12th.

Sunday Message
On Tuesday of this week I traveled south to the Pepin area to meet Yata. Yata is the church council president of a congregation whose attendance has dwindled to the point where the difficult decision was made to close their doors and liquidate the property. Looking over their inventory for items that might be of use to Living Water, I asked, "How did you ever get a name like Yata?"
Smiling, he replied, "Back in 5th grade, for our history lesson on Mexico, I was the lucky guy who broke the piñata. One of my buddies said, "Nice job, Yata! And it stuck...and still sticks, 55 years later!"
Labels. Good or bad, helpful or not we collect and wear them our entire lives. How about you? What labels do you wear? What do you think of them? Any you'd like to change or ditch completely? What if I told you Jesus has something for you - something more powerful and more defining and more freeing than any label you will ever wear? I hope you can join us this Sunday as we welcome new ministry partner families and continue our Fall preaching series, "Overcomer: Labels."

Living for Christ!

Chili Cook Off - Sunday, October 29th
Fermenting Faith will be hosting an all-church Chili Cook Off on Sunday, October 29th (following worship). FF will make a big roster of chili, and the congregation is also invited to bring a crock pot of their own special chili.   Dessert, crackers and toppings will be provided as well.
All chili's that are brought in, will be automatically entered into the contest for the title of "Best Chili at Living Water". Want to help out in the kitchen or help with other needed items? Contact Tom Moon for more information.
LW Window Clings Are Here!
This fall we came up with a really fun idea to raise support for our missionaries to Cameroon, Jim & Carol Brown.  We purchased a whole bunch of Living Water window clings and are giving them away to you.  All we ask is this:  you make any contribution of your choosing towards their $5 cost.
Clings available this Sunday - thanks!
Survey: Your Opinion Matters!
Living Water wants your opinion! Please take a moment to complete this 9 question survey. We want to hear from our congregation to see if we need to improve in certain places, or just keep doing what we're doing. We value our members and want to make sure your voice is heard. Thank you for your help! Click on the link below to get started!   https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/K5S33GW

New Women's Group:
"Living A Life Of Worship"

Starting in October, Lindsey Kolpack will be leading a new group through Sarah Young's, "Living a Life of Worship," an excellent resource for discovering how thankfulness and worship always open the door for entering into God's presence and blessings. Even the most routine part of the day can be a spiritual act of worship when you are living close to God, and seeing from His perspective will allow you to truly be able to "give thanks in all circumstances" (1 Thessalonians 5:18).  Sign up at Clipboard Central to purchase a book & become part of this 8-week study!
Baby Liam
On August 22nd of this year, William Odin Huseth entered the world much earlier than anticipated  at 1 lb. 9 oz. and 11 3/4" long. Parents Josh & Sara have created a Caring Bridge site to give all of us who love and care about them, a way to keep updated on events in Rochester, MN.  To follow progress and send notes of encouragement and support, simply logon to CaringBridge.org  and search for:  Liam Odin Huseth

Meet the Living Water Family of the Week
Names: Justin, Sarah, Cole, Kate, and Colin Everson

Something interesting about our household:
We are a very busy household who loves spending time outdoors; hunting, fishing, and trying to keep up with our new puppy Birdee.
How we became connected to Living Water:
We became connected to Living Water through Sarah's co-worker's Pam Voigt and Michelle Benoy. They kept telling us how wonderful Living Water was. We visited one Sunday and found out for ourselves how great of a church it is!
What we like about Living Water:
What we like the most is how welcoming Living Water is. Everyone is so friendly and we've made some great new friends. It's nice to feel like a part of the community.
