A Message from Mr. Hackenson
Dear Parents,

Please remember that the opportunity to come to school out of uniform ("Sunday Best or dress down) is a privilege that should be respected. Some students came to school on "picture day" wearing inappropriate clothing.

Students MAY WEAR the following:

  • Leggings only if worn with a tunic length top providing appropriate coverage
  • Jeans only if neat and clean, have no holes, are not too baggy/too tight
  • tennis shoes
  • short socks
  • uniform length shorts or capris
  • uniform length skirts/skorts

Students MAY NOT WEAR the following:

  • Clothing that is extremely tight
  • Low cut blouses/tops or v-neck tops
  • tank tops or scoop neck tops
  • skinny jeans or jeggings
  • T-shirts with inappropriate writing
  • Pajama pants
  • Flip flop sandals
  • Open-back shoes
  • Tennis shoes that convert to roller skates
  • No visible undergarments allowed
  • Make-up
  • No boots of any kind

PARENTS WILL BE CALLED TO BRING A CHANGE OF CLOTHES AND ANY STUDENT WHO FAILS TO COMPLY WITH THE OUT OF UNIFORM GUIDELINES WILL LOSE THE PRIVILEGE OF OUT OF UNIFORM DAYS FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.

A good "rule of thumb" is if you're unsure, don't wear it.
In addition, please note that children are not allowed to bring candy to school with their lunches or snacks.

Please refer to our 2017-2018 Parent/Student Handbook HERE , or see me with any questions.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Principal

St. Joseph Women's Club Event: Glitter & Glitz A Holiday Marketplace on November 12th
The St. Joseph Women's Club will be hosting it's Annual Fundraiser at noon on Sunday, November 12th at the Point Breeze Restaurant in Webster. There will be over 30 vendors to assist you with your holiday shopping!

This fundraiser directly benefits the students and faculty of the school, because the Club provides funds for class trips, scholarships, the library, and monetary donations for supplies. Last year The Women's Club purchased our new laminating equipment, donated $2,500 to the school, as well as paid for the 8 th grade class trip and the buses at Christmas time for the students to go see a holiday play, and visit La Salette Shrine in Attleboro, MA. They really need the support of the school community to be able to continue to do that!) Please view the event flyer HERE .
ALL SAINTS DAY - ALL SOULS DAY
As Catholics, we begin November by remembering those who have died. We call the first two days of November All Saints Day and All Souls Day. November 1st, All Saints Day, was called All Hallow’s Day in England because hallow is another word for holy. The night before was called All Hallow’s Eve, which was eventually shortened to Halloween.

The Church offers us a way of thinking about those who have died. On All Saints Day and All Souls Day we remember that we are members of the People of God. United with God, we are also united with all Christians who have come before us in the Communion of Saints. Text Link
