Grateful Gathering
Helping Hands
The season of giving is upon us and we're making a list and checking it twice. This holiday season, Chandler Parks & Recreation has carved out some time to emphasize giving while gathering with friends and family. Whether you hit the links, ruff it with your furry friend or dive in to lap swim, you'll have a little fun while making a big difference in our community. Scroll through this month's top picks to learn how you can help.
Get Your Play On
Playground Build
Help Us Build Our Playground at Gazelle Meadows Park! Volunteers are needed Saturday, November 4 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. to assemble playground pieces, mix concrete and more. Breakfast, lunch, on-the-go snacks and refreshments will be provided. Roll up your sleeves, grab a shovel and help us get our play on!
Bark in the Park
With the dog days of summer behind us it's time to get outside. Join some of man's best friends at Tumbleweed Park Saturday, November 18 for the 10th anniversary of Woofstock.
Dog lovers of all kinds can enjoy a fur-filled day of free family fun. From pet adoptions to pet psychic readings to pet caricatures , we've rounded up wag worthy activities for your four-legged friend to enjoy. Woofstock celebrates 10 doggone good years with a one-of-a-kind high flying dog show performed by the nationally acclaimed Purina Pro Plan Performance Team. Get your dog out the house and raise the ruff.

Aquatics
Before dipping into the mash potatoes and gravy on Thanksgiving Day, consider a dip in the pool at Chandler's annual Turkey Swim. Carve out some time to join  Chandler Aquatics at  Hamilton Aquatic Center for lap swimming from 5:30-7:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 23. Burn some calories before plunging into your Thanksgiving meal. The water is heated and admission is free to participants bringing a canned food item to be donated.
Thanksgiving Craft
Preschool
We're talking Totally Turkey as we explore this unique Thanksgiving bird.
Fly by the Environmental Education Center Friday, November 17 at 2 p.m. where little turkeys can discover the traditions of this wild bird through turkey tales, calls and arts and crafts.
Winter Camp
Youth
With the little elves out of school for winter break, it's time to plan some fun-tastic outings to celebrate the season (and help burn off all that candy cane energy). From sports to arts and crafts to nature explorations our Winter Break Camps offer a variety of opportunities to ensure a jolly season for all. Morning, afternoon and full day sessions are available at the Environmental Education Center, Snedigar Recreation Center and Tumbleweed Recreation Center. Check out our camp locations for winter themed curriculum.
Teen Talent Show

Adult
Chew, Chew! Here comes the gravy train. Thanksgiving marks the beginning of season's greetings and eatings. From drinks to delectables to desserts, the holidays can be tough for even the fittest folks. This holiday season don't let the turkey have all of the fun, play TRC's Thanksgiving Three-for-Three and carve out time to increase your wellness rather than your waistline. November 1-21 complete three GroupX formats, each week for three weeks. That's a total of nine calorie-torching workouts! Choose from cycle, cardio-strength circuit, dance and mind/body for a chance to win fit and festive prizes.
Active Adult
Take the beaten path and share your love of hiking with others. Get back to the basics on Saturday, November 18 with Hiking 101 for Group Leaders as we hike Peralta Trail. Learn how to plan, facilitate, read maps and keep your group safe on the trail.
Therapeutics
Dust off your golf clubs, air out your golf shoes and join Chandler's Therapeutic Recreation community for their annual Chandler Golf Challenge Friday, November 10 at Bear Creek Golf Complex. The Challenge swings into action with a shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. Sponsored by Dignity Health the tournament also includes dinner, raffle, on-course contests, and much more. Whether you're an Olympic hopeful or a Happy Gilmore, the day is sure to be a hole-in-one! Proceeds from the tournament benefit Chandler Mayor's Committee for People with Disabilities  Scholarship and Stipend Fund.
