Dear Parents,

The St. Augustine Medal of Service was instituted by Bishop Lori in 2005. Each year the Diocese of Bridgeport recognizes men and women who show dedication to Christ and to His Church through service and charitable works.

This Saturday, October 28th, t he St. Augustine Medal of Service will be presented to Mary Dineen  for her years of service and volunteering of her time to our St. Catherine of Siena School community.  Along with serving as our HSA Treasurer and her many years of assisting our athletic program,  Mary has supported and served our community in numerous ways throughout her time here at SCSS.

The prayer service and medal ceremony will be held at St. Augustine Cathedral where Bishop Caggiano will give a blessing and present the medals to all the recipients. What a beautiful way to celebrate service to others. Congratulations Mary Dineen and thank you for all your service to our school community.

Quote from Pope Francis:

"Let us try always to be united with Jesus, following
Him especially on the way of the cross."

Let us remember that as true Disciples of Jesus we are called to serve and to follow His way. If we live by His example and serve others we will receive God's graces. We can be united through living out the Beatitudes in hopes of receiving true happiness someday in Heaven with our Lord.

Faithfully Yours,

Miss Giaquinto
