New 4-H Agent
Just in case you haven't yet heard....  Currituck County Cooperative Extension is proud to announce that Sherry Fischlschweiger has recently been named 4-H & Youth Development Agent in Currituck County.  Sherry replaces long time 4-H Agent, Ellen Owens who was promoted to County Extension Director for Pasquotank County in July. Sherry will oversee the Currituck County 4-H & Youth Development program which offers 4-H Clubs; School Enrichment; Teen Leadership Programs; At-Risk Youth Programming; Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Programming; 4-H Camps and much more.

Club

Calling all shutterbugs! The Currituck County 4-H program is pleased to announce that a new 4-H Club is being organized for youth in 4th  through 9th grade. If you have a real interest in learning all about cameras and discovering how to take excellent shots, which will become lasting treasures, this is the club for you! The initial meeting for this group will be held on  Friday, December 9 at 5:30pm  at the Currituck Extension Center on 120 Community Way in Barco.
Master 
Gardeners

The Currituck County Extension Master Gardener Volunteers are currently accepting applications for individuals to become volunteers. Those with a strong interest in both gardening and their community are encouraged to apply. Applicants should be comfortable working with a diverse group of people and willing to share their knowledge with both new and experienced gardeners. Course classes begin on  February 7, 2017  and will meet every  Tuesday  from  9 am to 12 noon  ending around  May 9, 2017 .
Master Food Volunteers

On November 7th the NC Cooperative Extension, Currituck County Center graduated four Extension Master Food Volunteers. These volunteers completed 30 hours of training concerning food systems, food safety, nutrition, conducting cooking classes and food demonstrations. Members of the 2016 class will now serve the community by assisting the Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent with food programming.
