Liberty Place garage proposal advances

Fredericksburg City Council on Tuesday took the first steps toward finalizing an agreement that will lead to a garage with 262 public-parking spaces at the Liberty Place development downtown.

Downtown library parking lot getting expanded

Work is in progress to finish clearing two sites along Sophia Street behind the Central Rappahannock Regional Library's headquarters branch downtown. The work will nearly double the size of the public-parking lot behind the library. 
Holiday parking promotion starting Nov. 11

Downtown parking spaces that are usually restricted to a two-hour limit will be available for four hours at a time between November 11 and January 31 to facilitate holiday shopping.

Frederick Street lofts project to be reviewed again by ARB

City Council voted Tuesday to send developer Mike Adams' plans for The Lofts at Frederick Street back to the Fredericksburg Architectural Review Board for review and comment.

This week's edition of "Freehling Finds" is set at 206 George St. for two reasons -- to highlight the opening of Fredericksburg Cupcake (planned for Saturday) as well as a historic tunnel that lies beneath the George Street sidewalk.

Household hazardous waste disposal available Saturday

Fredericksburg and Stafford residents can dispose of their household hazardous wastes and recycle electronics for free from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the City Shop parking lot at 1000 Tyler St.
