PTO ANNUAL APPEAL: FIVE WEEKS DOWN
#piercepride  Raised to date: $33,327 (48%) of $70,000 goal  
The PTO will spend more than  $160 per student  for the 2016-2017 school year, any amount you can give is appreciated -- truly. If your family is able to give a bit more, we are delighted to use that extra amount to help subsidize other families.  We're aiming for 100% family participation.   Checks can be made out to "Pierce PTO" and returned to the Appeal bin near the main office. You can also make a secure donation online at   http://www.pierceschoolbrookline.org.  
Note: All contributions to the Pierce PTO are tax deductible and will be acknowledged with a receipt for tax purposes. The PTO's tax ID number is 35-2197562. Please also consider using your employer's matching grant program. ____________________________________

MATH LEAGUE FOR GRADES 4-6 STARTS NEXT WEEK!! 
Daily, starting 11/28 7:20-7:55am @ Ms. Greco's room (behind Mr. Rae's room)
Practices go until mid-March. Students are welcome to attend any of the topics, which are Operations (Mon.), Problem Solving (Tues.), Bases (Wed.), Patterns (Thurs.) and Geometry (Fri.).

MATH LEAGUE IS LOOKING FOR PARENT VOLUNTEERS
7:20-7:55am
Love math and want to spread that love to the next generation? Math League, a math club for students in 4th to 6th grade, is looking for more parent volunteers to coach one morning a week before school from 11/28 to mid-March. During the practice sessions, 2-3 coaches help the children work through sample math league problems. Coaches will be provided with plenty of practice problems and each topic will have an experienced coach for support. IMPROVE YOUR CHILD'S PIERCE EXPERIENCE
The Enrichment and Challenge Support committee is trying to explore different ways of enhancing what students are learning in the classroom. One possible way to do this is by mining the incredible wealth of experience we have among the parent community. GET READY FOR THE PIERCE BOOK FAIR!!
Looking for a great way to get rid of all of those books that are cluttering up your home? Donate them to the Pierce Book Fair!! This beloved annual used book fair is for the classes and general school community and is held in the spring. We accept books for all ages, from preschool to adult, of course with particular need for books for school-aged kids. Starting Monday , we will have a collection bin in the front lobby for your donations.  Also, we are looking for volunteers who may be interested in helping throughout the year to move, store and sort books. GOT KEYS?
William (5W) and Vivianna M. (3B) are pleased to announce the Pierce Key for Hope key drive. For the month of November, please bring in any old keys you have and drop them in either of the two buckets for collecting keys--one located in the Pierce lobby and one in the Historic Building near the exit doors closest to the main building. Key for Hope recycles old keys with all of the proceed going to fight hunger. 100% of the proceeds from our key drive will directly benefit the Brookline Food Pantry. Questions? RUNKLE PLAY: JOHN LENNON AND ME
Thurs., 12/1 and Sat., 12/3 7pm; Sun., 12/4 2pm
Runkle 8th Grade Players present John Lennon and Me, the uproarious award-winning play about life, death and boyfriends. Come meet ultimate Beatles fan and terminally ill teen Star who confronts fate with imagination. Since the play contains mature themes, parent discretion is advised. Tickets on sale before and after school the week of the play as well as at the door. $10 for Adults, $7 for students.
