Parent Organizations
|
Lake Forest High School offers an abundance of opportunities for parents to get involved. Consider the opportunities listed below and we welcome your participation.
|
T
he LFHS Foundation is an all-volunteer organization that helps bridge the gap between tax dollars received by the district and the cost of providing a high-quality education in the 21st century. Students and teachers look to our resources to provide cutting-edge technology, best-in-class teaching methods, and classroom enhancements that would not otherwise be possible.
LFHS Foundation Advances Academics for All Students - We are Grateful for your Support!
Recent grants awarded by the LFHS Foundation have helped support significant academic developments at LFHS like the Business Incubator and Makerspace. Yet there are smaller grants awarded each year that have enormous impact - like new Sidewalk Sign Holders, SAT prep class study guides, ongoing education opportunities for teachers, and iPad Catalog Stations for the library. At LFHS we have a lot of wonderful groups working to support our students, but LFHS Foundation is the only organization focused on providing funding to advance academics for all students. The Foundation works to bridge the gap between what the state and our tax dollars provide and the cost of providing a high-quality education in the 21st century.
- Sidewalk Sign Holders help communicate school events and activities to parents as they drop off and pick up their students each day.
- SAT Prep Class Study Guides - with the state's move to the SAT, new prep materials are helping to prepare our students for this important college entrance exam.
- Ongoing Education opportunities, including teacher participation in the Newberry Consortium, Executive Functioning seminars, and attendance at the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages Conference are some examples.
- iPad Catalog Stations to replace the library's information catalog system.
As the holidays approach we are especially grateful to the many donors who support our efforts. If you haven't had a chance to donate, we hope you will consider making a year-end gift to the LFHS Foundation to help us create more learning opportunities for our students.
