Teal Pumpkin Project . . .
Halloween is fast approaching and many of us love to see the cute and imaginative costumes that the little ones have. Living in the same house for 14 years, I have watched some of these little ones grow up before my eyes. As they get older, the costumes change from cute and cuddly to gross and scary.
Sadly, a few of the kids that come around, are not able to take treats from our candy bowl. Food allergies are a real problem and for some children, deadly. The Teal Pumpkin Project has been trying to raise awareness to this plight. A simple nut candy bar placed in a child's bag can contaminate an entire night of Trick or Treating for a child.
The Teal Pumpkin Project has suggestions for treats and gifts to pass out for Halloween. This year, in one bowl, have your favorite candies to pass out. In another bowl, put in items like Dracula Teeth, Glow Sticks, Bracelets, or Necklaces, Pencil Toppers or Erasers, Temporary Tattoos, Bookmarks, and Spider Rings just to name a few. Let the children pick which bowl they want to pull from. You'd be surprised to see that in may cases, they really want the toys over the candy.

Beginning Machine Piecing - Hollywood Boulevard Table Runner Class

Join Day W. & Carol K. as they create this beautiful Holly & Ivy Machine Embroidery table runner designed by San Francisco Stitch Co. This two part class will take you through the design, layout and stitching of the machine embroidery patterns. Then while in class two, learn how to finish the runner. Floriani Total Control-U Digitizing Club ...
Each month we review different features of the software and apply it to a project. You will create the embroidery designs for the project and then take the design home and see how it has worked for you.
Note: You will need to make sure you have your software loaded up on a laptop for class so we can use it. You will need to have a mouse, power cord and a wireless internet adapter so you can connect to our internet. Note pad and writing utensils would be a big help so you can take notes on key information. If you have the current manual already printed, you can bring it, but it is not required. Key manual pages will be included as part of your handout.

The Rapid Fire Lemoyne Star has been made for years, but using the pattern and ruler by Deb Tucker, Elize will show you how to make this fun and beautiful quilt top. The finished size is aproximatly 26in x 26in, so you will be able to place it anywhere in the house or apartment without taking up too much space. Purchase the class and ruler for $60.00. Beginning Embroidery / BOM . . .
We have been asked to set up a beginning embroidery class for those who have purchased an embroidery machine and want to put it through the paces. We have found a perfect project to put together. This will be a 7 month course. The class will be offered 2 times a month for each block. You will complete 6 blocks of your choice and put them together to create a wall hanging, centerpiece or table runner.
We are using Baltimore Album Blocks by
San Francisco Stitch
. We can sell you the designs or you can download them directly from San Francisco Stitch. The final class will go over assembling the blocks. There are a few ways you can do it and they will be touched on during the orientation and detailed in class #7.
The designs can be purchased for $39.99 for all 12 designs or can be purchased individually for $4.99 each.
The day of orientation, you will be required to bring your stick so we can download the design(s) you have chosen or the full design pack (if you are purchasing the designs from us).
Signups will be in the store only at this time. This will allow you a chance to see the samples hanging on the
announcement
board and will give us a better understanding of your needs if we can talk to you in person. This class series is open to a single class if you only wish to attend one class. Students who have taken the full series will receive priority placement in class #7. The rest will be a first come, first serve policy. Thank you for your understanding.

Earth Angels Meeting . . .
Thank You All who attended the Earth Angels meeting in August. Thank you for supporting the community with your time and sewing skills as you create the wonderful tops for children in our area.

Row by Row - 2017 . . .
Picking up your patterns has closed, but now it's time to stitch out those blocks and turn in your finished quilts to win your prize!
Row by Row is On The Go. The full experience goes from June 21st through September 5th, 2017. During this time, visit a participating shop and pick up the free Row by Row pattern that the shop has to offer. Many of the shops are also offering kits to make their rows, giving you a head start in completing your Row by Row quilt.
Be the first to bring in your completed quilt to a shop who has not had a winner yet and win the prize (25 fat quarter bundle). You can bring in your completed quilt between June 21st and October 31st, 2017 to see if you can win.

Store Hours Change . . .
I wanted to thank everyone who has enjoyed our later hours. However, as we head into winter and less light, we are finding it harder to encourage our customers and friends to step out into the late evening hours.
Starting October 1, 2017, we will be operating under winter hours.
