Chapter News...
Introducing our 2016/17
Student Rep to the Board

I am a 3rd year Interior Architecture and Design student at UNLV and choose to make a change after long career in the credit card industry.  I have been drawn to interior design since I was a child and decided to finally take the leap, a few years ago, to pursue a career that I will feel passionate about. In my spare time, although there is not much of that being a full time student, I most enjoy spending time with my friends and family and discovering new foods and wines.  I have also been known to make a mean decorated iced cookie.

In 2015, I was honored with the Best Student Design for the first annual ANDYZ Awards. Through the ANDYZ event, I met some wonderful people and successful designers, who inspire me to keep going.  As a student representative, I hope to help find ways to get my fellow students engaged in ASID events as well as help strengthen the network between students and the professionals we aspire to be.

Sincerely,

Sheryl Gordon

The Las Vegas Showcase House will be opening it's doors in 2018. ASID California Central/Nevada Chapter's Showcase House Committee was chosen to do the Living Room and Foyer.

CHARITY OF THE YEAR:

The ASID Chapter Board has chosen to support the Las Vegas Core Academy this year.

"Core Academy, powered by The Rogers Foundation provides after-school programming that aims at educating, enriching, and empowering each student, or 'Scholar', that we work with. We do this by employing a comprehensive approach to address the collective needs of each individual student through our six pillars of development: basic needs, academic enrichment, leadership development, career and workforce development, mentoring, and cultural enrichment. In conjunction with our daily programming, our staff works with the Clark County School District and other community and organizational partners to meet our student's needs in each of these areas.
Core Academy believes all children have the right to reach their full potential and pursue individual success. Our mission is to strengthen character, build brilliant minds and create brighter futures for our community's most under-resourced youth."

SACRAMENTO - DATE WITH A DESIGNER EVENT:

HOW IT WORKS:
