Where We Have Been
Carol and I are lucky enough to be able to travel the world and experience many cultures, peoples and lands. One of the ways we do this is on the wat
e
r in many different types of vessels. Some are very large cruise ships with thousands of people aboard. Some are small, yacht-type vessels with less than 50 people while other are river boats cruising the rivers of Europe, China or the U.S.
So it was with interest that we had a chance recently recently to visit the replicas of the very first "cruise ships" - Columbus' "Nina and Pinta.

an overnight trip to Atlanta to enjoy the sights and sounds of Georgia's ca
pital city. After arriving in Atlanta, the group checked into their hotel for a little rest before departing to an old favorite for dinner - Mary Mac's.

Last year, over Thanksgiving, I was able to spend a week in the metropolitan city of Puebla, Mexico. It is the 4th largest city in Mexico and after spending so much time in smaller cities, Puebla felt really big. I stayed in the middle of a shopping district and 1 1/2 blocks from the central square. My hostel, Hostel Santo Domingo, was pretty big with around 10 rooms.
The staff was friendly and the free breakfast was decent. Since there weren't a lot of other people there, I had my whole room to myself. At first I was excited, but after a couple days I realized that I really missed....
