It's a Holiday Spectacular!
The holiday season kicks off in Coral Gables this Friday, December 2, beginning at 5 p.m. with the Holiday Spectacular taking place in front of City Hall and Merrick Park. Bring your family and friends to watch Santa's arrival and the lighting of the tree at 7 p.m. Our own CGTV reporters Brianna Moles and Mike Biana will emcee this spectacular event, featuring musical entertainment, food, carnival rides and face painting, plus other fun activities for everyone to enjoy. Passion/Passiflora Incarnation: A Material Transformation
Currently on exhibition through Tuesday, December 6, the Coral Gables Museum will explore the creation of the Segovia Street artwork by Alice Aycock, Passion/Passiflora Incarnation. Through video, photography, and related objects, the exhibition speaks to the traditional and contemporary processes used to realize this visual masterwork. Get Your Pictures with Santa at Merrick Park
Beginning on Thursday, December 8, Santa will keep coming back to Merrick Park, in front of City Hall, and he won't be camera shy. Get your special holiday picture on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Saturdays and Sundays from 12 noon to 10 p.m. until December 18. Beginning on Monday, December 19 through Friday, December 23, Santa will be taking photos at Merrick Park from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. only. Photos are $6 each, full color and framed in a postcard. Holiday Parking Courtesy on Expired Meters
If you lose track of time shopping Downtown this holiday season and forget to feed the meter, don't worry about getting a parking ticket. Beginning on December 6 through December 26, parking attendants will only place on your windshield a Holiday Courtesy Notice if your meter expires. This gives you a one-hour extension from the time the meter expired. These courtesy notices apply to all on-street parking citywide. For more information, contact the Parking Department at 305-460-5541.

Now Collecting Toys for Children in Need Until December 23
The annual Coral Gables First Responder Toy Drive is collecting new and unwrapped toys for children ages newborn to 15 years. Toys can be dropped off at the Public Safety Building (2801 Salzedo Street), Fire Station 2 (525 S. Dixie Highway) and Fire Station 3 (11911 Old Cutler Road). The toys collected will help those less fortunate this holiday season. For more information, contact 305-460-5402.

Traffic:
December 2:
Due to the Holiday Spectacular, Biltmore Way from Hernando to LeJeune will be closed from 10 a.m. until 12 midnight. Andalusia Avenue from Hernando to LeJeune will be closed from 10 a.m. until 12 midnight.
Ongoing: FDOT is doing construction along US1 from Santona Street to Granada Boulevard and at the intersection of Grand Avenue. This project will end this month. There will be periodic lane closures.
FDOT is doing roadway construction along LeJeune Road from Almeria Avenue to Majorca Avenue. This project will last until June of next year. Lane closures may occur during non-peak hours on nights and weekends. Please obey all posted signs and speed limits.
