Hedda Gabler & Sirens: Elektra in Bosnia,
a dual volume from Playwrights Canada Press that is alive with Judith Thompson's trademark grit and raw dialogue. These plays are contemporary reimaginings of
two controversial female protagonists in literature, and the marginalized voices of women in history.
Oil
from Nick Hern Books follows the lives of one woman and her daughter in an epic,
hurtling collision of empire, history and family. Ella Hickson's explosive play drills deep into the world's relationship with this finite resource.
The Virgin Trial
from Playwrights Canada Press is a gripping follow-up to The Last Wife, in which Kate Hennig continues her Tudor Queens Trilogy
by cleverly exploring victim shaming, sexual consent, and the extraordinary ability of girls becoming women as she reimagines the scandalous and little-known story of Elizabeth the First before she was Queen.
