HCPSS Insight: School Start & Dismissal Times
Monday, December 5, Noon-1 p.m. - Watch live on our website or on HCPSS-TV (Comcast Channel 95/Verizon Channel 42)
School Start and Dismissal Time Committee was established under the direction of the Superintendent to gather input from a broad base of stakeholders regarding the possibility of adjusting the start and dismissal times of schools. The committee examined research related to school start times, developed a survey to identify impacts on student well-being, student activities, community activities, and safety.
The Committee on November 17 presented a report to the Board of Education with four alternative models from the current practice. Details, a comparison model, and a link to the full report are available on our  website.
Join our panel of experts to better understand the work conducted by the Committee, and what impact shifting start times may have. Panelists include HCPSS School Improvement and Administration Executive Director Frank Eastham and Transportation Director David Ramsay.
Ask questions prior to, or live during the panel discussion by tweeting questions using the hashtag #HCPSSInsight or emailing [email protected]. Following the live broadcast, HCPSS Insight will be available on demand on our site.
