Woolfolk
As it gets colder here in Victoria, we all turn to lovely warm wool to keep us cozy and occupied during our evenings in. Curling up with a luxurious knit is the perfect way to spend the wet grey days of a west coast autumn. We are thrilled to announce that we will now be carrying Woolfolk yarns. Woolfolk is based in Portland, and its ethos and aesthetic are inspired by the founder's Danish heritage - Woolfolk was her grandmother's last name. Their yarns - made from Ovis 21 Ultimate Merino, which has the softness and hand of fine cashmere - are dyed in a beautiful range of colours and the accompanying patterns pay homage to the clean lines and minimalism of Scandinavian design.
Beehive is carrying three of Woolfolk's yarns: Får, Tynd , and Sno. Får is a 100% Ovis 21 Ultimate Merino worsted weight wool. Its chainette construction gives beautiful stitch definition when used in textured patterns, such as Shannon Cook's "Tread" hat from Within. Tynd is a luxurious fingering weight yarn in a timeless yet modern palette of colours. It is also 100% Ultimate Merino, with excellent yardage, 205m to 50g. Sno is Tynd's marled sister and comes in both high- and low-contrast colour pairings that work well alone or coupled with Tynd. A glance through the Woolfolk lookbooks will make you ache to knit a sweater or shawl with pared back, elegant details and cashmere softness.
