Smarty Party 2017
It's that time of year again! We are gearing up for our 6th annual CRHS Smarty Party on Saturday, November 4th. Register your team here to join us for a fun night of trivia. Doors will open at 6:00 PM and trivia will begin at 7:00 PM. Please reach out to Katie Waggoner at kwaggoner@cardinalritter.org with any questions. Below are some photos from last year's Smarty Party. View the full photo album here .
Dear Raider Alumni,

This first quarter has been such an exciting one. Thank you to all of you who were able to attend our Annual Fund event “Fill the Gap: God Always Provides.” This event focused on filling the gap between tuition and the cost to educate a student. In addition to this, funds raised are also being directed to installing restrooms at the athletic field.

Homecoming was another success as we saw so many alumni at the game.

We had a record number of foursomes at our golf outing. It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces. A big thanks to all of our wonderful volunteers and hole sponsors.

Our alumni participation is vital to the continued success of our annual fund. Without your support we would not be able to accomplish nearly what we have done so far. Your generosity only affirms your belief in the foundational tenants upon which this school is built.

Thank you again for your support.

God Bless,
Mrs. Hoy
Hello Fellow Alumni,

The fantastic thing about Homecoming is that it is a mainstay. This is the one night alumni can count on to come back and see so much bundled into one: the action on the field, student energy, veteran teachers, fellow alumni, and so much more. It is everything you would want to feel again about the high school experience wrapped into a little package. It is a nice treat to hang out with friends on a Friday night watching the game, especially when the weather is as nice as it was this year!

The mainstay of Homecoming was more than a game but a weekend. The annual golf outing was moved to the Saturday and to a new location. This resulted in a full field of 36 foursomes raising $9,500. This money goes towards the alumni legacy scholarships awarded annually at the Homecoming game. This year a Family Fun Day was a new addition to the weekend as well, bringing a new generation of Raiders out to play. A mass in the Cardinal Ritter chapel on Saturday evening was a perfect way to conclude our first Homecoming "Weekend."

I challenge you to keep that Homecoming spirit alive and attend another event on the alumni calendar - come to one or come to them all! As our quarterly newsletter move to the electronic format, we hope you enjoy this fall edition. Feedback is very helpful, and we are listening to your thoughts! We also want to know what you have been up to – travels, life experiences, achievements, volunteer work, and more! The more information that is shared, the more interesting the newsletter will be! Please send your stories and tidbits to cbcmaxson@gmail.com as you find them. No need to wait, I will work at compiling them!

Thank you Sr. Lucia Christi for speaking to the Cardinal Ritter students after our first All School Liturgy of the 2017-2018 academic year!

Congratulations Fr. Trenton!

Fr. Trenton Rauck was ordained on May 20, 2017 in Chicago, IL, and celebrated his first mass the following day at St. John Cantius. Some fellow Raiders made it to witness the laying of hands by Msgr. Schaedel at the ordination. Pictured are Mike Dalton (CR ’90), Angel Morales (CR ’90), Fr. Trenton (CR ’90), Msgr. Schaedel, and Carlos Morales (CR ’89).
CRHS Reunions

What a busy and fabulous reunion season we had! Reunions began back in May with the Class of 2007 kicking off the gatherings by celebrating their 10 th reunion. There was a little lull in the summer, but then the Classes of 1992, 1997, 1972, and 1987 all had their reunions in September and October. If your graduating year ends in a 3 or an 8, you’re up next! This includes the Class of 1968, our very first graduating class celebrating their 50 th Reunion!
2017 Alumni Sporting Events
Thanks to all the ladies who came out for the alumni volleyball game in July! We had graduates ranging from the Class of 1989 to the Class of 2016. Save the date for the end of July 2018 for the next match!
We had perfect weather for the alumni soccer game in July! It’s always a good time when the current soccer team hosts the alumni for a cookout after the game. We will get the date out for the 2018 game in the spring so you can plan accordingly!
Homecoming 2017

We had a beautiful night for our Homecoming football game on Friday, September 29 th . The Alumni tent was open before the game where many alumni gathered to reminisce and eat some chili. We announced our homecoming king and queen, presented our alumni legacy award winners with plaques, and also presented the inaugural “Dedicated Alumni” award to Mike “Perto” Lampert.

Dedicated Alumni Award

Cardinal Ritter High School thrives on the legacy of their alumni. It is with that in mind that the Alumni Board has started the Dedicated Alumni Award. Voted on by years of alumnus, the winner of the dedicated alumni award, a 1985 graduate, gives his unfailing support to the Cardinal Ritter High School community. As a sports announcer for the girls and boys’ basketball team and a stats keeper for numerous teams, this Cardinal Ritter Raider has never deserted the hallways of CRHS. Whether at an advancement event or a sporting event, Mike "Perto" Lampert always shows his support of the Cardinal Ritter Raiders. Embodying the spirit of the award, Cardinal Ritter High School is proud to announce the first recipient for the Dedicated Alumni Award to Mike "Perto" Lampert.
CRHS Golf Outing

On September 30, 2017 we had a full field at our CRHS Golf Outing! There was not a cloud in the sky as golfers made their way to their starting hole on Sycamore course at Eagle Creek Golf Club. It was a great day for alumni, parents, teachers, and staff supporting Cardinal Ritter.  We will share next year’s date for the outing as soon as we have it, but plan on Homecoming weekend again!  Congratulations to the reigning champions: Lynn Kestler, Tom Kestler (CR '75), Mark Carrico, and Pete Mungovan!
Raiders in the News

Anthony Sims ('13) was featured in a Channel 8 WishTV.com news article in August. The segment highlighted Sims' boxing gym off of East 10th Street that he bought with his first professional boxing paycheck in 2014. More than one hundred kids as young as seven are learning to box at Sims' gym. At Sims' Boxing, students fight competitively, but Sims wants them to improve personally, as well, learning discipline, heart, and courage. Read the full article here .
