W EEKLY WISDOM

" As Jesus was walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers,
Simon who is called Peter, and his brother Andrew,
casting a net into the sea; they were fishermen.
He said to them,
"Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men."
At once they left their nets and followed him. "

Pray for Eastern Tennessee
Join CRL in Praying for an End to the Wildfires

Gatlinburg , TN, and surrounding towns are battling wildfires caused by a summer's severe drought and driven on by high winds.

Heavenly Father,  we ask Your protection against destroying fire.  We ask that You protect the people of Gatlinburg- those that live and work there, and those that are battling the wildfires.  We ask that You send rain to help human efforts to control the fires.

O Gracious God Who created the earth and all that is in it, You give us so many blessings;
You have filled the world with so much beauty, bounty and no end of wonders!
Please comfort and heal all those who are suffering from wildfires.

Through Christ's Name we pray.  Amen.

Second Week of Advent
A Tree Must Bear Good Fruit

This week's "Storytellers", reminds us that a tree is known by its fruit.

St. John the Baptist urges us to repent, to turn away from sin, and to root out the bad fruit we produce.  To read the reflection in full, please visit our website.

December Blessing
Free Printable for Advent Devotions

The month of December on CRL's Calendar of Blessings is dedicated to a blessing of night.

As the daylight hours give way during the month of December, the night calls our attention. Darkness invites us into its mystery, to gaze into its star-filled sky with wonder.
As we watch and wait for the Light during the season of Advent, the darkness of a particular night can be a powerful setting for prayer.
