2010 Chateau de Come Saint Estephe

We have come across another winery cellared, cherry of an offer. Jose Bueno ( famed wine maker at Chateau Mouton Rothschild ) , made the 2010 Chateau de Come. The 2010 vintage is classic, there was very little if any mediocre wine made. Consequently we make a point of perusing and tasting Bordeaux of this vintage and we have tasted a lot. The de Come stands out and does so in a category with wines which often cost a lot more. This is undoubtedly due to the masterful winemaking skills of Jose Bueno combined with the prestige of the fruit and terroire with which he was working. The average vine age of the de Come is 35 years.  That shows in the depth of this wine.

The flavor profile is one of plums and raspberry predominately, but all manner of wild berries jump out at you here and there. The character of the de Come is classic Saint Estephe in that text book cigar box, mocha and pine needles lace this wine. Those components of the Saint Estephe terroire are evident in the nose and offer polish to a long finish. The de Come is drinking wonderfully now, but I believe it to be cellar worthy for at least 15 years.   Six cases were direct imported from the winery.
$59 per, 5% off 6, 10% off 12.
The de Come received 90 points from Decanter, review below.

" Rounded and ripe nose, clean black currant fruit, cedar and graphite, complex and fine palate. St. Estephe rustic and weighty tannins but with elegance and class " 90 points Decanter, Ronan Sayburn, MS

All the best,
