National Opportunities
Noor Ahmed from The First Tee of Greater Sacramento was selected to attend two national opportunities this fall.  We are very proud of Noor and her accomplishments on and off the course.

COCA-COLA America's Future
Five semifinalists were selected from an application process to spend two days in the heart of downtown Atlanta visiting the Coca-Cola campus, attending a new-hire training, meeting with executives, and taking part in interviews.  Noor received a $1,000 college scholarship from this opportunity.   The semifinalists also attended THE TOUR Championship presented by Coca-Cola.

Participants at chapters throughout The First Tee network entering their senior year of high school are eligible to apply for the America's Future Scholarship. Each of the five semi-finalists are selected based on their school grades, involvement in their chapter and community, and an essay on how they live their lives positively.

John Deere Careers on Course Academy
The John Deere Careers on Course Academy introduces teen participants to the various careers within the golf industry. This event allows participants to explore those different golf careers by interacting with professionals in each segment: coaching, turf management, tournament operations, golf course management and golf course operations, and partaking in interactive activities that would simulate the day-to-day duties of those professions.

The three-day experience includes a tour of the John Deere Turf Care headquarters in Cary, NC, extra-curricular activities in the triangle area including a trip to the SAS Championship, and a college experience while staying on Duke University's campus.

Noor was one of 24 participants selected from chapters throughout The First Tee network for the four day academy experience.

Our mission:

To impact the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf
