GREG ZIMMER IS IIAN'S NEW PRESIDENT
New IIAN Officers & Directors Elected At 110th Annual Convention in Lincoln
IIAN members elected new officers and directors at the association's annual member meeting on Thursday, October 12 in Lincoln, held during the Big "I" Leadership luncheon at IIAN's 110th
annual convention. IIAN's new president is
J. Greg Zimmer, Zimmer Insurance Group, Lincoln. President Zimmer is the third Zimmer agency principal elected to serve as president - uncle John Zimmer served in 1985, and father Jim Zimmer served in 1997. Also elected were
Sandra E. Ryks, UNICO Group, LaVista - Vice President, and
Todd D. Anderson, Anderson Insurance, York - Secretary-Treasurer.
Mark B. Lisko was re-elected National Director, representing IIAN on the IIABA Board for three years, and two new IIAN directors were also elected:
Adam Backer - QBE NAU Crop Insurance, Omaha; and
Zak Morken - Western Insurors, Ogallala.

Supporting Young Leaders Is Presidential Vision for 2017
After taking the oath of office at the convention President's Luncheon on October 12, President Zimmer talked to IIAN members about the need to support IIAN's young committee chairs and Board members, and help them with their goals to develop new programs to help IIAN members succeed, and advocate for members with consumers and in the legislative arena.

Annual IIAN Awards Presented October 12
Outgoing IIAN president
Krae Dutoit presented IIAN's annual agent and company awards at the Big "I" Awards Dinner on October 12 in Lincoln.
Member agents honored were: Distinguished Service -
Philip F. Winkelmann; Committee Chairperson of the Year -
Zak Morken, Ogallala; and Young Agent of the Year -
Dustin Kowalewski, CIC, AIP, Omaha.
Jon Hongsermeier, AIP, was recognized as 2016-17 Elite Force Sales School "Top of Class".

, Lincoln, was recognized as "Trusted Choice

Agency of the Year".
Member company representatives honored were: Company Representative of the Year -
Nate Spurling, Auto-Owners Insurance
; and Five Star Company of the Year -
Farmers Mutual of Nebraska

Andy Kraus, CPCU, CIC, Vice President, and Tim Valleau, CPCU, Regional Director of Agencies.
IIAN staff members Jeremiah Gudding, CIC, Brenda Kaiser, CIC, AAI, and Nancy Robeson were recognized for achieving national IIABA awards in membership and education; and IIAN CEO Carol McClelland, CAE was also recognized for 30 years of service.

IIAN's "Spirit of Nebraska" award was conferred on Lincoln's
Hannah Huston, in recognition of her contribution to the prosperity and well being of the citizens of Nebraska, as a goodwill ambassador at the national level. The special award was crafted by Omaha sculptor Michael Montag.

110th Annual IIAN Convention Draws 400 To Lincoln, October 11-13
|
Just over 400 IIAN members and company representatives attended IIAN's 110
th annual convention held at the Embassy Suites in Lincoln, October 11-13.
"It was great to see so many IIAN members from all over Nebraska - especially over 80 young agents and 36 first-timers," commented
Greg Zimmer
of Lincoln, who was elected and installed as IIAN's new president during the convention. "Thanks to Annual Convention committee chairman
Michael Luna, AIP, and all of our Convention committee members,
for putting together such a fun and educational event."
In addition to great networking and learning, everyone had a great time with the Oktoberfest theme!

| 18 New CISR Designees Honored |
IIAN held its annual CISR Conferment Ceremony on October 12 in Lincoln, as part of the association's 110th annual convention. The ceremony recognized 18 insurance professionals who have achieved the
Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) professional designation and/or the
CISR Elite professional distinction.
The Outstanding CISR of the Year award went to
Jessica Northrup, CIC, CISR, with Ellerbrock-Norris Insurance in Hastings.

22nd Annual IIAN Foundation Golf Tournaments Raises $23,000
For Big "I" Talent Network College Program and Scholarships
This year's tournament raised a record-breaking amount, which will go to support the new
Big "I" Talent Network program to connect IIAN member agencies with new talent from Nebraska's colleges, and millennial career-seekers.
A record 144 golfers, along with 34 hole sponsors and 13 event sponsors, enjoyed very nice fall weather on October 11 at
Woodland Hills near Eagle. The tournament was h
eld for the 22nd consecutive year, in memory of IIAN member Jay Jacupke of Hastings.
