Teen Craft Prep Workdays



Help prepare crafts and materials for upcoming summer camps, family festivals and educational programs. For ages 13 and up.  Pre-registration is required. 
Some outside work may be available--bring a coat!

We're renaming North Wake Landfill District Park,
and we want to hear your ideas for a new name!

Submit your  suggestions 
by Oct. 31

or on the North Wake Landfill District Park Facebook page. You can also submit your name ideas when you are at either North Wake Landfill District Park or Blue Jay Point County Park before Oct 31 by filling out a suggestion card on display. 

Suggestions must include the words "County Park," and we will not consider suggestions including the name of a living person, or a name currently in use in the area.

The new name is expected to be announced
by early 2018.

Who Wants to Be a Scatologist?
Friday, November 10   10 - 11:30 a.m.

Come to Blue Jay and get the "straight poop" on the subject of scat (animal droppings).  Scientists study scat to find out many things-join us to find out what! We will play a rousing game of "Who Dung It?" followed by a hike for some inspiration before making our own "Scat Snack".  How cool is that?

GrEEn Holiday Crafting is an annual Gathering of Environmental Educators of North Carolina Central Section members and prospective EENC members. What to expect? First of all, a fun, relaxing afternoon with other EENC members plus some yummy snacks! Second of all, enjoy a variety of free crafting activities led by EENC members. Meet at the Blue Jay Center for Environmental Education.

Growing Up WILD
Thursday  December 14, 2017 
 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.



Growing Up WILD is geared towards educators of children between the ages of 3-7 years old and is correlated to the National Association for the Education of Young People Standards and the Head Start Domains. Facilitated by Casey Williams, this 6-hour workshop counts as a Criteria I workshop in the NC Environmental Education Certification Program.  CEU credit will be available upon the completion of a homework assignment.  Meet at the Blue Jay Center for Environmental Education and bring a bag lunch.
