Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the US! And, for everyone else, this is as good a time as any to take a deep breath, look around, and realize that - weird as today's world is - we all have much to be thankful for.

Indeed, I'm grateful to be able to write these newsletters and continue our conversations on media and editing. I always love hearing from you.

I have six new articles this week, including a look at who visits our website, along with a detailed write-up on how to create a 3D fly-by effect in Motion.

Thinking of articles, I am fascinated to read your thoughts on my article on " Why Do So Many Americans Mistrust the Media." If you read this when I first released it, take a second look and read through the comments. Lots of things to think about there.

On a different subject, awards season has started and screeners are starting to appear. These give me a chance to catch up on movies that I missed in the theaters. Last night, I watched " Kubo and the Two Strings," a beautiful mix of animation, stop motion and mechanical puppets combined with stellar voice-overs that weave an engrossing story that's deep enough for children, yet captivating for adults. Well worth watching.

My latest webinar - Get Started with Final Cut Pro X - is posted. If you are on the fence trying to decide where to go when you finally, reluctantly, painfully give up FCP 7, this webinar is designed to help. In it, I show what's the same, what's different and what you need to know to be successful using FCP X. And, this week, its available for only $19.95.

Webinars will take a break this week for Thanksgiving. I'll be back next week with something fascinating. As soon, that is, as I think it up.

Make a point to listen to the Digital Production Buzz - all our shows revolve around a theme, like last week's "Extreme Shooting." If you haven't tuned in for a while, now's a great time to check us out.

Enjoy the holiday. I look forward to chatting with you next week. In the meantime, edit well.
