PRESBYTERY GATHERING
FAITH, FOOD AND FARMING IS THEME OF PRESBYTERY GATHERING NOVEMBER 14.
From Rev. Ann Gibbs, Milwaukee Presbytery Moderator: I am writing to invite you to the November 14, 2017, Presbytery Meeting being hosted by our awesome brothers and sisters in Christ at Grace Presbyterian Church, Beaver Dam. The theme for this gathering is Faith, Food, and Farming, celebrating the gifts and ministry of all those working to address issues of hunger, food scarcity, and nutrition in the Greater Milwaukee Area. During the business meeting, we'll introduce our new Exec nominee, Rachel Yates, and I'll be passing the moderator baton to Vice Moderator Lee Tan. We're also planning a slideshow presentation and resource handout highlighting our congregations and those in specialized ministry who participate in or host a ministry focusing on issues of hunger, food scarcity or nutrition.  Following the business meeting, we'll welcome a guest panel of local individuals who, each in their own way, work to ensure that everyone in Wisconsin has access to nutritious food....(FOR MORE INFO AND TO REGISTER) .

DO NOT STAND IDLY BY GUN SAFETY TECHNOLOGIES LIST
At last Thursday's DNSIB meeting, we heard about many groups who were working hard to develop not just smart guns, but many other related products such as smart locks, smart magazines, smart holsters and even smart bullets! Many people were surprised to hear that so much activity was going on in the "smart" sphere and so requested that we send around a list of those groups.
Attached is such a list. It's quite interesting and we encourage you to go to their websites, if still active, to learn more. (Caution: various DNSIB leaders across the U.S. have active relationships with these groups - therefore, please do not take it upon yourself to contact any of them.) One final note, a lot of these companies were contacted this summer to find out the status of the projects; but the attached list does not reflect any of that new information, so it may be out of date ...( READ MORE ).
