4th Annual Lip Sync Battle

Join Community Action Partnership of Strafford County (CAPSC), the county's leading anti-poverty agency, for their 4th Annual Lip Sync Battle. This family-friendly battle royale draws a large crowd each year, and this year promises to be even more fun, action-packed, and memorable. There will be raffles, prizes in multiple categories, and some serious local talent, including the emcee, Jadd from Z107, and a panel of celebrity judges. All proceeds raise awareness of, and funding for, vital programs that help CAPSC reduce the impact of poverty and build a stronger community. Go to

Healthy Living Classes at Dover Adult Learning Center
In addition to computer, photography, cooking, and arts & crafts classes, Dover Adult Learning Center is also offering healthy living classes this fall. Reiki is one of the simplest, most powerful healing techniques for pain, mental and emotional difficulties, stress, anxiety, phobias, hormonal imbalances, and more. Our "Reiki I for Beginners" class balances lecture and hands-on; Level 1 certification upon completion (Wednesdays, Nov. 1-15, 6:30-9:00pm). BigFish Learning Community, opening on January 8. 2018 will offer a self-directed learning environment for teens. On November 2 we will be holding a panel discussion on Self-Directed Education. Ken Danford, a pioneer in Self-directed education and an author at Liberated Learners, as well as past and current "self-directed" teens will tell us why they do what they do. The discussion will help illuminate what BigFish is all about and shed light on the importance and value of offering teens this alternative route to pursue their education.
