The Department of Labor (the "DOL") has issued its highly anticipated Final Rule increasing the salary threshold for white collar exemptions under the Fair Labor Standards Act ("FLSA").

The changes will  take effect on December 1, 2016 and are expected to expand overtime eligibility to more than 4 million workers who are currently exempt from the FLSA's overtime requirements.

This is a very complex topic and the new regulations can impact employers in many different ways. Strict compliance is critical and employers must comply with federal and state wage laws to the letter.
