In this season of thanks and goodwill, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support.  Our work is only made possible through the support of our community.  2016 was a great year for CMD-IT!
  • The 2016 Tapia Conference broke attendance records with 965 attendees including 534 undergraduate and graduate students from 163 universities.
  • CMD-IT launched our Virtual Teams Initiatives to keep students engaged between the Tapia Conferences and focus on improving retention in computing to degree completion.  Academics and industry  professionals were recruited to mentor the Virtual Teams.
  • In collaboration with CDC, CAHSI, and Access Computing, CMD -IT organized the 2016 Academic Careers Workshop for Underrepresented Participants (ACW).The workshop included participants from 20 different academic institutions from across the United States. Highlights included sessions about navigating the tenure process, effective teaching, launching a research program, and proposal writing.
  • We are currently accepting program submissions for the 2017 Tapia Conference, which will be held September 20-23, 2017 in Atlanta, GA.  We hope you'll join us there as we get ready to break our attendance record once again.
Be sure to support our upcoming events by helping us to engage members of your network.  Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to let people know about the Tapia 2017 Call for Participation and Scholarship opportunities.
