Thank You!
This Thanksgiving, we at the Manchester Historic Association want to say how thankful we are for friends like you! Your support makes it possible for the MHA to operate the Millyard Museum and Amherst Street Research Center for the benefit of the public, maintain the important collection of artifacts and documents pertaining to Manchester's history, and provide quality educational programs to children and adults alike.

2016 has been a particularly exciting year for the MHA with new exhibits and programs and a record number of school children visiting the Millyard Museum.  Your support makes all of this possible. Help us continue to tell Manchester's story. In this season of giving, please consider a generous gift today to the MHA Annual Appeal Heritage Fund.  Click here or mail your gift to the Manchester Historic Association Millyard Museum, 200 Bedford Street, Manchester, NH 03101.

2016 Ornament: Elm Street

Doing your Christmas shopping?  Don't forget the MHA's 2016 collectible ornament!  This year's finely-detailed ornament depicts Elm Street as it looked in the early 20th century with cobblestones, trolleys running down the road, and beautiful arched lights.

Each year the Manchester Historic Association produces an original, limited edition brass-plated ornament that celebrates Manchester's history. These unique, detailed ornaments are handcrafted in the United States by the same company that makes the annual White House Holiday Ornament. They make perfect Christmas tree decorations or gifts for the holidays and for many other occasions.  Each comes in a decorative box.

These ornaments are available for $25.00 in the Millyard Museum Shop.  The 2016 ornaments, as well as a limited number of ornaments from past years, can also be purchased online.
Call for Volunteers

The Manchester Historic Association is looking for new volunteers for two positions at the Millyard Museum!

1. School Program Volunteers.  These volunteers lead school programs at our Millyard Museum.  School Program Volunteers will help to share Manchester's fascinating history with school groups that visit the museum.  Volunteers will be provided with all the training they need to lead the multiple programs that we offer to schools.  Volunteers should be comfortable working with kids, enthusiastic about history, and available during daytime hours.

2. Front Desk Volunteers.  Volunteers at the front desk are the first to interact with visitors to the Millyard Museum. Tasks include ringing up admissions and gift shop sales, answering the phone, and being a point of contact for visitors.  This is a great way to interact with the public.  Volunteers should be comfortable working engaging with the public and with using a cash register.  All training needed will be provided.

If interested, please fill out an application here and email it to history@manchesterhistoric.org or mail it to 200 Bedford Street, Manchester, NH 03101.  Interested applicants will be asked to come in and interview with museum staff.
Downtown Holiday Market

Be sure to check out the Manchester Historic Association's table at Intown Manchester's 6th annual Holiday Market this year on December 1, 8, 10, and 15.  With over 50 vendors in attendance, shoppers will find different types of handcrafted jewelry, baked goods, fine artwork, clothing, accessories, and much more.  The MHA's table will feature our collection of ornaments and a selection of books and other great gift ideas.
