Palo Alto Planners Consider
Housing Impact Fee Hike
Palo Alto's Planning and Transportation Commission will consider a proposed $50 per sq. ft. affordable housing impact fee on all new market rate residential construction. The proposal calls for the commission to deliberate at its meeting on Nov. 30, 2016, whether or not to recommend to the City Council the adoption of a draft ordinance to update the city's below market rate program and adopt the affordable housing impact fee.   Click here to view the staff report and attachments.

DreamCatcher Shelter
Needs Your Help!
The DreamCatcher Shelter in Oakland is 80 percent complete and we need your help to open this shelter by January!  DreamCatcher is the only safe landing for homeless and disconnected at risk youth in Alameda County who are between the ages of 13 and 18.  The new building will provide eight shelter beds for homeless youth and will add six new beds for commercially sexually exploited minors.  Every child deserves a safe home.  Help us build that for them.  The project was estimated to cost $2 million but additional safety and security costs resulted in a funding gap of $200,000.  If you would like to donate to this critical project, please contact Cheryl O'Connor at  coconnor@homeaidnc.org .
