"Dallas is our Suburb"
Story by Bill Hethcock, Dallas Business Journal
With its $5 Billion Mile under construction along the Dallas North Tollway and its record of nation-leading population growth, Frisco has been on a roll, with no signs of slowing down.

One of the entities helping the city grow is the Frisco Chamber of Commerce, led by Tony Felker, president and CEO.

Frisco grew a whopping 32 percent between 2010 and 2015, boosting its population to 154,407. The city posted an average annual population growth of 5.32 percent, ranking first in that category as well. The Frisco Chamber has 1,300 members, which ranks it No. 5 in North Texas, according to Dallas Business Journal research.

"One of the things we talk about all the time is we're not your grandfather's chamber," Felker said. "We don't want to be viewed the way chambers have historically been viewed ... We're going to shake it up. We're going to do things differently." Watch Video/Read More....

Eagle Gun Range Raises Over $2000 for Lewisville Police K-9 Unit

Owner David Prince presented LPD with the check at the range.  "We wanted to make sure the officers knew that they were appreciated and there are a lot of our customers that appreciate them," Prince said. "We're just grateful for our law enforcement."

Captain Mike Lane said there's a lot of costly equipment that is used in the canine unit.

"The protective suits the officers wear to decoy in, those things are $1,500," he said of the padded suits officers wear to train dogs with. "And of course they wear down because every time they use them, they're getting chewed on." Read More...
Former FBI special agent to lead Sikich LLP's investigations team in new Dallas office
Sikich LLP recently announced the hiring of former FBI Special Agent Frederick M. Bennett, who will lead the firm's new Dallas office and the investigations team within the dispute advisory practice.

"Fred brings valuable corporate investigative experience to our firm," said Sikich CEO Jim Sikich. "He will help expand the capabilities of our growing dispute advisory practice. Further, he will help drive our continued expansion in the booming Dallas market and across the state of Texas."

Bennett spent more than 20 years as a special agent and assistant special agent in charge of the FBI's Dallas field office. As head of Sikich's investigations team, he will work primarily with corporate general counsel and outside counsel on internal corporate and financial fraud investigations across industries.

"I am excited to join a first-class dispute advisory practice," Bennett said. "The talented team at Sikich is adept at working through large amounts of data and evidence to quickly determine legal implications for our clients. I look forward to joining forces and providing high-quality investigative services to attorneys in the Dallas area and across the country."

Sikich's dispute advisory practice provides fraud management and prevention, forensic investigation, damage analysis and valuation to the government, legal and corporate communities. The Dallas office is the firm's second in Texas. Sikich also has a growing presence in Houston.

Bennett, a CPA who is also certified in financial forensics, earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Eastern Kentucky University and his MBA in finance from George Washington University.
