Lafayette Gives Back Coat Drive

Thank you to everyone who donated to the 2016 Lafayette Gives Back Coat Drive. Thanks to you all, more than 150 children at Neval Thomas Elementary School in NE DC and the Episcopal Center for Children right here in our neighborhood will have a warm coat this winter. We also received mittens, hats, fleeces, and sweatshirts that the folks at our two partner school greatly appreciated.
In addition to coats this year, Lafayette families have been generously donating books from our Child's Play Book Drive. The Library team at Thomas Elementary school was so excited by the book donation. Pictured below are Ms Ine, the librarian for Thomas, Ms. Cross the former librarian, Lafayette mom Stacy Beck, and Ms. Kleekpo, Director of Strategy and Logistics for Neval Thomas Elementary School.

Below that, Ms Kleekpo and Jenny Backus are standing some of the 100 plus coats donated by generous Lafayette families and community members.

School Pictures are Online!

Student portraits are now online! Please use the link and password provided to you by your Room Parents to view your student's online gallery. Photos can be cropped - please leave instructions in the "notes" section when ordering or contact Freed directly to discuss your options (301-652-5452).
If your child was absent on picture day, the photographers will be at Lafayette on Tuesday, November 29 to photograph those students. Please contact Gayle Moseley if your student was absent on picture day and is not listed here: E. Brennan, D. Conrad, W. Hartig, M. Heltberg, A. Kierig, A. Langkilde, E. Langkilde, M. Palacheck, J. Reeves, L. Rubin.
If you are not satisfied with your proofs, the photographers will be at Lafayette on Tuesday, November 29 for re-takes. Please contact Gayle Moseley by Friday, November 25 if you would like your child's photo retaken on Tuesday, November 29. It is also helpful to let your child's teacher know he/she is to be photographed that day.
Note that because of the growth of the school population, Freed took only student portraits this fall and will take the class photos in the spring. As a result, there is a slight change in pricing: for those families who purchase the full set of digital prints (via package A or digital-only option), the digital class photo is included and will be sent to you in the spring. All other packages have been slightly discounted to account for the class photo, which can be purchased separately in the spring.
