Up until today, the way to reach Gigabit speeds has been to deploy fiber-deep networks. New innovations in G.fast are allowing more competitive broadband speeds using Service Providers' existing copper.
In areas where copper is already abundant, Service Providers can use G.fast to reduce the cost of going fiber all the way to the home. Although fiber is an ideal deployment, it is not always feasible to deploy it to individual households due to cost and time.
G.fast will enable next-generation bandwidth when used in conjunction with fiber, while saving money and allowing for faster speeds
