Your End-of-Year Support is Very Important to Us

As the holiday season approaches, please consider giving back to CCR.

With your support, our juvenile victim-offender and family mediation programs provide an opportunity for the parties to communicate with each other and allow the juvenile to explore the significance of their case and the effect their behavior may have on their community and family.

Your donation really does make a difference.
Thank you!

LETTER FROM EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
CASSIE LIVELY

Dear CCR Community:

Happy Holidays!

As we at CCR look back each year, it is always our volunteer community that we are most thankful for. This year, our volunteers have helped us serve more than 5,000 clients in more than 20 different mediation programs throughout Cook County. Each year, we are able to be responsive to clients in new contexts thanks to our volunteers' dedication to service and learning.

This year, working with the Juvenile Probation Department, CCR began providing family mediation services to youth under intensive probation. Working with the Chicago Police Department, we have made new connections with the Juvenile Intervention Support Center (JISC) to receive referrals at the time of arrest. And we continue to be able to meet increased demand from families in our parenting and financial mediation programs.

Speaking of volunteers, our next round of Mediator Mentorship Program recruitment is underway. Please share the information HERE  with anyone you think would make a great mediator for CCR.

Mark your calendars for CCR's annual gala fundraiser, Cirque du CCR: Performing the Art of Mediation. We are thankful to Kirkland & Ellis LLP for hosting this year's event, which will take place on Thursday, March 30 from 5:30 - 8:00 p.m. We are going to have a lot of fun with this theme! If you are interested in sponsorship opportunities, would like to make a donation to the silent auction, or would like to volunteer at the event, please contact Meredith Mann at [email protected] or 312-922-6464 x21. Tickets will go on sale in early January.

Wishing you and yours a fantastic holiday season.

Cheers,
Cassie

Comedy for Conflict Resolution was an Evening Filled with Laughter

On Thursday, September 22, CCR hosted a night of good food, laughter, and fun at our Comedy for Conflict Resolution event at Plante Moran.

Entertainment for the night was provided Maggie Smith, Meg Kennedy, Terrance Lamonte, and Mark Campbell, improv artists from ComedySportz, Laugh Out Loud, and Second City. They engaged our audience by letting them make suggestions for their skits, and had us laughing all night.

Guest enjoyed delicious food (including everyone's favorite deep dish pizza from Lou Malnati's, Mediterranean food from Roti and Naf Naf, and sandwiches from Jason's Deli) and sipped on beer and wine from Lagunitas Brewing Company, Revolution Brewing, and Midwest Wine Selections.

The night concluded with our raffle drawing, which included amazing prizes such as courtside Bulls tickets, a salon highlight, cut and blowout at Tsubo Salon, and restaurant gift cards to Madison Tavern and Roti Modern Mediterranean!

Thanks to the generosity of our guests and donors, we raised more than $5,000 for the Center for Conflict Resolution. We couldn't have done it without your support!
